Pretty close! 6mm mdf, cut out the 'orange' sections, sanded down slightly to allow for the vinyl. Bought a roll mat for £2.99, used it to give a slightly padded feel, then covered all the seperate pieces, put back together again, then glued aluminium tabs on the back of the sections to tie them all together.

Cheers

That is a seriously tidy piece of work and you have everyrighttobe very proud of it. I was going to do a simple dash with a lcd display but seeing what you've done has given me cause to think again. Well done!

using mdf will it not absorb and retain moisture going soggy after a period of time i got a posh sink from b&q and having to cut a hole in the cabinet for waste it has swelled and warped with the moisture in the bathroom.

Monsterob,

The whole piece of mdf was given 2 coats of pva after all the holes were cut to make it watertight, before it was covered, it's a method that's used a lot, and I've never had one go bad yet!

Very nice indeed! Well done.

I was going to use a digital all in one type with a pretty plain dash, but think you have changed my mind with that one! Good stuff!
