Don't disregard the zzr 1400 either, apparently they feel really torquey even in a seven. That's what's going in mine when I get bored of the 9r motor.
Im sure as well there would be a massive weight advantage going for the bike engine so therefore better handling as well.

there's a nice type r in North East Motor Salvage (Peterlee) here is the link

I know it is the K20a2 engine which is 150cc's less than the s2k but it might be cheap as its is a breakers car cat B (back end totalled)....just a thought bud.

Mazda with extra go faster bits because would cost a lot less so you get more smiles per mile as not cost so much to do.

Unfortunately type r engines turn the wrong way, would be very quick in reverse though.

Is it as simple as that?

K4KEV 22nd August 2011 09:03 PM

why not since the mounting would be bespoke any way and diff itself is sealed

Some good thoughts cheers.

Think i've made up my mind to go with the S2000, when i upgrade its got to be a mega machine. The bike engine would be awesome but would be a lot of hard work with normal driving and probably get sick of the constant gear changes and pitch of the screaming engine. The S2000 seems the ideal engine for the roadster. Going to find a garage with one in and give a test drive for final decision.

Thanks for the input.....Andrew

Why not Mazda/Duratec 2.5 / 3.0 V6 with mazda 6 speed box and show what the new chassis can do, just a thought. :D
