Thank you very much to all of you for the details and the pictures. I had looked on pictures of accelerator cables on Google, and I was wondering what kind of end was this plastic piece . Now Kev and mgglep, I understand it fits on a ball-nipple :).
But without the donor car, I think I will have hard time finding this ball-nipple piece that looks to be found on the original accelerator pedal. I can plan for a ball end cable and a clevis as Skov, very clever, and it looks quite easy to do out of a folded and drilled 1mm steel plate, or drill the plastic socket from the Sierra cable to fit it with a bolt through it. Anyway, I see clearer now.
Thanks you very much again.
Sylvain

Small correction on this one for anybody who will read this thread: the Ford Capri clutch cable eye is 6mm and not 8mm. As I drilled my pedal before having the cable (my mistake :(), I now have a 8mm hole to fit the 6mm eye... don't know how I'll sort this out... any ideas?

Hi Sylvain.....weld up hole grind back and re-drill to correct size

Now the pedal are painted, I'm going to waste everything if I try to weld the holes now :( . But thank you for the advice.
But I I have an idea : you see the crimped collars ("ferules") of my brake lines? They have a 6mm inside diam and a 8mm outside diam, with a small flange, so I will cut 2 of them 10mm long, and use them as hat-spacers on each side of the pedal shaft :)
