Actually, RU8 for drum is horizontal, and for disc it is vertical. I think Talon makes this "in between" orientation of RU8 to avoid the problem explained above, and perhaps also (but I'm not sure of that) to use the same uprights for both drum and disc settings.
I ordered the uprights for drum brakes, and that is just what I thought when I received them... sh... I hope they are OK for drums, and as I don't have my brakes yet, I can't even try :eek:
But they should be OK as, as long as the bleeder is at the highest point, it works in any position.

It just looks odd as there is no problem with fitting the cylinder at the top apart from the slight clearance issue with the inlet to the cylinder,it would look as that setup is for a caliper as you need clearance for the handbrake mech on the rear and that fouls the upright,it also defies everything I ever learnt regarding leading and trailing shoe setup's in the 40 years I have spent in the motor trade,the cable entry would also be a bit of an angle too.

There is an obvious answer and I am interested as to what it is.

Just got the reply from Phil (Talonmotorsports), and yes, the uprights on the picture I published are suitable for both disc and drum set ups, they have been checked many times, we can trust Phil on that matter, I think he has sold more than a pair!

welded as book and just took bit out to clear cable, will see how I get on with cylinder fittings later.
I see why you did yours that way ronnie pity I didnt ask this question before tacking them up last week, oh well just another mistake along the way.
