but what do i replace it with !! it is just there to get me through iva but what to put in its place ?

im planning to try an engine flush to see if it quietens it down but who knows it has been sat dry in the garage for 2 years so i expect it to be a little rough but i was shocked !!

There's an oil additive called "Restore" which is supposed to be good for hydraulic lifters.

Ive found the wynns version for £9 suppose its a drop in the ocean compared to what ive spent so far worth a go ! Short of that itll be track it and stick something huge in it !

As long as it gets you through your IVA on emissions Rob doesn't really matter how it runs THEN stick something huge in if that's your plans :) Most people i know that have used the cvh have soon upgraded.

I was hoping to get passed and used to it first then either rebuild a second performance engine over the winter but who knows ive got the wynns lifter treatment and looked into a thicker oil to try to quieten the tapping down then its look at the lifters need to look at my fuel maps too as its running a little rich i stink of fuel when i leave the garage !! :-)

Have you still got the EGR gubbins connected Rob?
If you have, it may be worth disconnecting it to see if it quietens down a bit as I seem to remember that it's the EGR valve that is responsible for at least some of the tractor noise.

You won't need it anyhow running a MegaSquirt!
