Yippi, I got the retest date today! Its shame it a few weeks away yet, but on the countdown for 22nd July. Unfortunately the Exeter Inspector has no slots until then!:)

I have one item on the list for him to check!:)

This coincidently also marks the exact 5 year mark on my build! with a day!

twinturbo 24th June 2013 08:48 PM

All DVLA paperwork as been filled and posted - now just to see what effect combining 39 local DVLA offices into Swansea will have!

Due to the closer of 39 local DVLA offices, the registration works have now been centralised to DVLA Swansea:-

I like to think the spoon is made from oak rather than pine!

Defo up for a drive, if the DVLA ever issue paperwork!

AshG 31st July 2013 11:07 PM

the guidelines of the new system say all registrations must be issued within 14days time to pickup the phone and remind them.

Spikehaus 4th August 2013 08:33 AM

This is the most frustrating part of the build!!!! Lets hope something happen this week as the 9th August will be the 14 working day mark.

Registering a vehicle

All V55 first registration application/s, including the appropriate fee and any supporting documents, should now be sent to DVLA Swansea SA99 1BE:
• the Vehicle Registration Certificate (V5C), tax disc and any associated documents will arrive in separate envelopes within 14 working days. Note: you may receive your V5C before the tax disc
• you will be able to use your vehicle on receipt of either the tax disc or V5C.
• if after 14 working days you have not received your tax disc or associated documents please contact DVLA Swansea on 0300 790 6802

twinturbo 4th August 2013 04:11 PM

So no registration inspection is needed then?

TT

jason 5th August 2013 01:08 PM

Well done Spike, looks like there will be a few new ones on the road this year. I hope your paper work doesn't take too long. Enjoy.

Spikehaus 5th August 2013 05:37 PM

Spoke to the DVLA Case Worker today, basically they are unsure how to register it at Swansea. They know it will have an age related plate, however as the approval certificate states a build of 2013, he does not know how to input the data.

He said he will register it anyway on Friday this week if he cant get any answers from anyone in his Department, but may have to change it at a later date!

twinturbo 5th August 2013 09:56 PM

Ehh?

It's cut and dried, it's built from substantialy second hand parts on a new chassis, it gets an age related plate based on the doner which is determined from the documentation from the donor V5 which has the engine number.

Or did you not have the corrosponding V5?

TT

PorkChop 5th August 2013 11:28 PM

I'll be honest, I'm half tempted to get the likes of Paul Jepson to handle the paperwork when my time comes for IVA. It's an extra expense but it ought to make the whole process less stressful.

baz-r 8th August 2013 12:09 AM

amazing i was in and done in 30mins when it was done at exeter office
a good 15mins of that was sat waiting my turn.

Spikehaus 9th August 2013 06:12 PM

Great news, I called them today and they have raised the paperwork and provided an age related registration number. Paperwork and tax disc in the post. That was exactly 14 working days as per the guidelines. They may need to make a minor amendment when someone tells them how to do it properly.

Pretty cool number plate also for free

C95 Mxx

The x's to blank the real letters:)

Spikehaus 15th August 2013 05:38 PM

Finally

V5 arrived in the post today! Just need the Tax disc to arrive. Looking good for the first drive this weekend if the rain holds off!:)

K4KEV 15th August 2013 06:26 PM

I am sure I read very recently that if you receive one or the other (tax disc or V5) you can drive straight away.

TheArf 16th August 2013 08:54 AM

Congratulations now get out there and thrash the nuts off it

Arfon

Davidbolam 16th August 2013 11:20 AM

In a previous pasted post the dvla say you can use is.

"you will be able to use your vehicle on receipt of either the tax disc or V5C. "

Please post some video's!!!!!
