Nice work Michael...I assume that fan does turn clockwise ie as you look at it ie "suck"... just looks like it should run the other way

twinturbo 11th June 2011 07:51 AM

Does look like a front mounted blow through.

TT

michael92 11th June 2011 08:43 AM

No no I assure you it's a sucker ;) haha
Gives me good spacing for the rad mounts :)

michael92 3rd July 2011 09:58 AM

Fly like a v6

howdo chaps!

well just a lilttle diary update :) recived my suspension brackets from Talonmotorsport very nice! and my rack extensions from
Dave @ rogue engineering nice bit of kit too :-P

but the real bargain lies here . i managed to get my engine in a complet running order with gearbox, loom ,ecu, flywheel, clutch ,sensors the lot! for......£60!! also got my gear remote so i have been sitting in pretending to change gear!! ;-)

Dont ask how that got in there!! it was difficult!

start of stripdown , oh and the engines only do 70k!

I have some big development plans for this engine, which i will probably regret having "too" much power haha but more power more fun right ?

although! my inlet plenums are going to be white (the ones pictured) and then the center air runner that will be yet again blue :)

I think it will look good :)

but thats coming from some one who wears flowery surf shorts ;-)

twinturbo 24th July 2011 06:34 PM

Is that a KV6?

TT

twinturbo 24th July 2011 06:39 PM

Phew, just read it's a VX V6.

My m8 has an astra MK2 with one in it.

TT

michael92 24th July 2011 06:43 PM

a kv6!!! ohhh no way! haha!

that would overheat in no time with the amount of abuse!

yeah is sure a x25xe :) there not bad motors, there fuel efficient and fairly powerfull. so in a car that weighs nothing it will be speedy and fuel efficient !

we dont need eco cars we need powerfull kit cars! ;)

michael92 20th September 2011 10:36 AM

howdoo all :)

Got a snip or 2 of my steering column mocked in, finally resembling a car'ish!

just waiting on my nice grey polys from spud :-) and all the bones shall be going on!! :-D

then I've got to make some engine mounts+gearbox mount Boooo!

i appologise that the quality is pants =-)

rear uprights
ball joints and transit drags
and diff mounts!

michael92 20th September 2011 06:57 PM

michael92 9th April 2012 09:24 PM

Michael

Eternal 9th April 2012 09:27 PM

Fantastic well done!

michael92 17th April 2012 02:07 PM

righty o! thats the "running engine" installed and well i have allot of modifying to water pipes etc to make it run and there is some other mods that needs to take place , changed my sump from the flat pan to the saab sump but my clearence is, well..... limited! and i have a vectra sump i could try but thats only half an inch shallow'er .

I think a bash panel is in order to be made :p

what do you guys reckon?

Eternal 17th April 2012 05:30 PM

Nice big chunky engine! Sump looks the same distance as my one around 50mm I will also be having a pan from. The steering rack the slopes down to the sump depth.

haha yeah tis a chunky lump aint it :p , yeah i was thinkng the same , maybe 4mm ally or something at a slope just so it will slide over bumps rather that going smack straight into the side! :)

twinturbo 17th April 2012 09:18 PM

Taking shape nicely.

and on dee back are a set of toyo proxies t1r's ;-) £30!!

and my friend did the spraying on my wheels which im very happy with!they are in a kind of grey metalic, looks real nice when the sun hits them!

thats the rad fitted this morning :-) now to do the drivers seat and other bits i have missed i reckon.

does the height on the rad look ok to you guys ?

Mike

K4KEV 21st April 2012 04:02 PM

nice work so far bud....the rad does look too high ...the rads position is determined by trial fitting the nosecone as the rad sits inside of it.

michael92 21st April 2012 05:50 PM

does this look ok?

hey all what do you all reckon to this

i will weld the rearward nut so that is locked and will lock it off with a nyloc nut, and obviously fully weld it all including the bolt to the plate.

and as for the rad it is far far far to high! so that will be coming down 3 inches or so!! :p

thanks for your kind words :) yeah , im going to be loweing it quite a bit and maybe put it on a slight slant. i was literally going by the rule of "aslong as its under the engine" haha but i spoke to andy and he said and liek youve said the bonnet has some depth on it :)

michael92 22nd April 2012 02:18 PM

привет!! had a laugh this morning! and yes I did make the brum noises and drifting screetches ;)
