For what it is worth here is my viewpoint.
As an elected general committee member, I do feel that I have been slighted by David's comments :( I might add, comments made by a person that has an axe to grind for reasons only known to their self  Having known Andy both pesonally & profesionally for the best part of 18 months .... I am left in no doubt that he has the best interests of the forum & Haynes Sports Car Club at heart. I am confident that Andy will work himself to a standstill for the benefit of one & all. I am sure that the Committee are very gratefull of your offer of web hosting & video conferencing David but I am sure that the clubs IT committee members have things well covered !! Sorry to say this David, If you have joined this forum for some kind of ulterior motive .... I think it best you bow out gracefully  This forum is a happy place, I for one, want to keep it this way :) |

Please dont drag this forum down to the same levels as other forums......
this forum has only been so successful because it has been self-regulating and driven on with goodwill, and a whole heap of banter.... We were present at the meeting at Stoneleigh and can assure anyone who is interested that the meeting was held in as sincere and professional a manner as was needed to be , to set the groundings for a club . Handyandy has been influential in setting up the club agreed ,but there has/had been plenty of time for nominations of club officers..and those there voted as they saw fit.. if Andy does a crap job, at the next agm we,re sure there are enough people with a spine to say so and vote accordingly ( personally we have faith in Andy ) It is a club people have the right to join or not ..... its not a compulsory part of using this forum.to be a member of the club please remember we live in a democracy..... please remove your post and dont bring your squabbles on here as it only attracts the type of people this forum ..DOES NOT NEED thank you Les g and TJ |

WTF???
Today I have paid my last respects to a friend of 20 years, my wife and daughters have provided a spread for over 100 people and everyone has been nothing but friendly and sociable, revelling in the life of the deceased, no major sadness and no nastiness. I come on here late at night to see what's happening and what do I find? ABSOLUTE BOLLOCKS being spouted from one brother to another! David, you need a reality check my friend, speak to your brother via the phone before you post on the forum, please? Apologising after the event doesn't cut the mustard, just don't do it! I volunteered as a general committee member just like Bonzo and I too take offence at your slight of committee members in general based on your own personal disagreement with your brother! Sort out your arguments in private and present a united front please! D. |
I have only just seen this.
This kind of thing is totally out of order. First and last warning. Even though Haynes run the forum its not impossible to have members banned. |
i cant beleve my eyes :(
people get a grip of your selfs please for this forum and the new club to be. to be honest this is no place for such comments. also there is no reason why this forum and the new club cant run in harmony side by side. one is a club and the other is a forum. some people may wish to be on one or both some people may wish to join just the forum to get an idea before thay even start where as the commited would also be a club as well |

I haven't followed this thread for a few days, so reading it today made my heart sink a little, I was concerned it had sunk to the level of other forums on here. Reading the last few pages has just made me grateful that I have been using this forum for a few weeks, it's not a good impression to new members on here.
Personally I think that the posts that have been made should now be deleted if anyone has the power to do so, to protect the integrity of this forum. I am also all for the owners club, it's an excellent idea and will be really good to have a group of like minded loons that can meet up and enjoy their cars together. I also want to be able to tell people I own a Haynes Roadster, and the same as Ginge, I want my HSCC t-shirt, keyring and mug. I wasn't able to make the club AGM at Stoneleigh, and so I am more than happy to go along with the crowd. I don't feel I'm in any position to belittle the good work that everyone has put in so far. Let's just get on with setting up the club, pop the toys back in the pram, and restore OUR lovely forum back to it's former glory. Rant over :) |
Same here Bob, having hardly been on the forum recently i've just come upto date with this.
Basically i can't believe that anybody is questioning the Integrity of particular individuals and that certain things have been said in posts. The main reason that i cant be bothered with other forums is that you always seem to have to worry about what is being said behind your back or what comments or posts you might be missing out on, Haynes forum being much more laid back and relaxed and fun to be around for as long or as short as you care to be each day. The club is an excellent idea and is just the step forward that the Haynes builders is ready for, having spent the stoneleigh weekend on a stand opposite the Westfield Sports Cars Club stand its easy to get an appreciation for the size and popularity that these clubs can attract. WSCC being the biggest stand at the show. Having spent a lot of time working with HAndy and also knowing other forum members quite well i cant believe anybodys integrity or amount of effort being put into development of this club, for the benefit of builders and not individuals, is being questioned. Just wish i had time to be more involved but as i have said previously any way that Saturn can assist as a company. The type of effort that Bonzo is putting in for the bolt packs, fantastic value, is a fantastic example of the type of benefits a club will be to builders. I know plenty has been said but i couldn't sit back and say nothing, after being involved with the Forum for 2 years i've never seen anything like this over that time, sure we can all get back to normal. Regards.....AndyH ps - not sure how you can say you are passionate about a forum after 7 posts. |
