I,m sure this car of mine likes living in the garage too much

when you think all is well, it goes & does something to wind me up .....snapped the clutch cable now ( & yes it was a new cable when I installed the engine) ok, I know its not a major setback but it still means more time to sort it out.

Tho, thankfully my local motor factors let me rummage thru their old stock of clutch cables & I think I,ve found one that will fit, its an inch longer than my Capri one so will fit it tomorrow, might need to make the adjuster longer by creating a spacer where it passes thru the bellhousing, its from a P100 so hopefully all will be well & driveable again tomorrow:)

Still got an issue with my oil temp gauge, might ditch it :D , oil pressure all ok so happy with that, I just wanted the extra gauge to even the dash panel out :o

cheers

Good question

In the bible the rear lower wishbones are shown fitted in 2 different ways....page 44 fig 4.16 shows 1 way then on page 74 fig 5.32 shows them the opposite way

I chose the position from page 44, after looking at other builders build pics etc & also thinking of any possible torsional tension the bones have when car is under load ( tho this was purely my own interpretation of the effect ) when travelling forward, as the car won,t be in reverse that much etc etc :D

Hope this helps, & being totally honest would also appreciate any thoughts on this, interesting question:)

andy

tringle front single leg to the rear that way the single tube at the back is under tension and will not bend and the tringle (linked at 2 chassis points) is under compresion when the hubs are pulled forward under driving force.

that make sence?

Sorry Andy. had this come up on LCB last week, you have done what i thought was right in that the front wing must be level with the front of the tyre. looks as if i was wrong according to the link below, if no work search LCB for wings. i have emailed you a pic. new fangled tech not my scene. :(

Thanks Russ :)

Tho I must say I couldn,t have done it without this forum & all the help from all forum members , 2 years ago it was a "pipe dream" that I thought would never happen.

Building my car has been a roller coaster of ups & downs but thankfully I kept at it ( again with support of many friends from this forum ) & she,s finally finished .

Just the last hurdle to go  :D

cheers
