flyerncle 23rd September 2009 05:40 PM

You bin Tango'd........

HandyAndy 8th November 2009 09:27 PM

had a re think for the running gear of my Roadster :D

Bonzo 8th November 2009 09:33 PM

Cool Andy

That'll save a fortune on IVA fees :D

Mind the first step though........it's a ..........Doosy  :D

HandyAndy 8th November 2009 09:42 PM

:D & i,ll be able to see over the top of most vehicles on the road .

the reason my chassis is on top of my van is with the great help from forum member "Mark", we stripped the engine/box/diff/all wishbones/suspension etc to just leave the bare chassis so that i could move my car to the Saturn sports cars premises,
thanks to the help from Mark it was stripped & on the roof within an hour & a half & on its first journey to the unit, got it unloaded & within an hour it was all back together again, engine/box in & back on wheels.

a big thanks to Mark for all your help, shout if i can repay the favour ;)

so now the car is at the unit i,m hoping to have it finished within my original schedule by January & hope to have it IVA,d end of Jan.

cheers

AshG 8th November 2009 11:50 PM

what have i started. all i did was post a picture of a kit car on the roof of my car and its turned into a competition to see who can take to the highest level.

i think your winning so far andy. although the vehicle is way to suitable for the job. but then again i do have to commend you for getting it up so high. it was a bad enough job getting one on the roof of the car let alone on a van

HandyAndy 9th November 2009 06:58 AM

:D my van might only be an old LDV postie van but it certainly has its uses

it was quite easy to get the chassis onto the roof, just stood it on end at the back rail & lifted/slid it over the roof of the van, all the engine etc in the back of the van with engine hoist made the van even slower than usual :o
got some strange looks especially when i had to stop off at a B&Q store, you could see people looking thinking "what the hell is that?":D

couldn,t have done it without Mark,s help tho:cool:

cheers
andy

A little update.......

As most of you are aware, the last 2 months have been a hectic time ( my involvement with Saturn Sports Cars ), in getting the unit ready prior to opening for business at the beginning of November.

Spud69 suggested that as i haven,t had much time on my own car recently to set myself a target .....

So the target is............. to do the following to the car, brake lines fully installed, fuel line & tank installed, wiring fully fitted, engine fully fitted

and to have the engine running by Christmas

fingers crossed it,ll happen........GULP:D :D

cheers

As you may have read in the thread about the Teesside track day i have been set the challenge of having my own car complete & driveable for April 9th,

so as i like a challenge i,m gonna "go for it"

here,s a couple of pics taken today of my car........lots to do, YES

lets see if i make the track day in time :)

the engine is ready to install & i have all the bodywork, have a new wiring loom all labeled up ready to fit too, got all lights, harnesses etc.

So....... do you think i,ll make the track day event??????

AndyLockwood 19th January 2010 04:59 PM

yea youl make it...i think :D

Tatey 19th January 2010 05:16 PM

I don't think you'll make it Andy, so i think you should just donate all of your parts to me and call it quits :D :p.

With a few dedicated weekends I think you'll be able to get it cracked.

HandyAndy 19th January 2010 05:44 PM

well i,m certainly going to have a go at getting my car to the track day,

cheers for your offer of help Tatey , i,ll security mark all my parts eh???:o :D

no it doesn,t need to have been tested or road registered, so the plan is.....get the car done, give it a good shake down session on track then do IVA , hopefully before Stoneleigh show in early May.

cheers
