Guy's,

FYI.

You'll know I offered my prize for a club donation. Well it didn't quite work out that way, but it looks like the charger has turned into a roll bar. So the club will have a donation made by myself to Ginge and Davey knows who now owns the charger.

Hope that makes sense. Basically I'm happy with a roll bar, A.N. Other is getting the charger and the club is getting a little funds.

All for the greater good.

Hands up and confess time, I cocked up,

By using a combination of user names and real names I missed the fact that onedayTM (Tony) donated a set of welding sleeves and then won them back again.

Mental note to self use one or the other user names or real names.

Any way being the good chap he is, he has asked me to offer the sleeves up to the highest bidder. (well the highest bidder bit was my idea):D

Don’t feel obliged, I will let it run until this time’ish tomorrow, all money goes to the club to be, I will cover postage, if only one person offers a fiver that’s fine.

Please keep it all on the forum (until it’s finished).;)

Cheers Ginge

Handy,

You are welcome, I am glad it's proving useful.

Davey 8th May 2010 02:54 PM

The one I bought off MM is working well too although I shall have to install more memory, 128MB is just not enough to run XP properly. I've managed to get drivers installed for my old Belkin cardbus wifi adapter so its now got wireless network connection too. Its going to be really useful in the workshop once I get it sorted for diagnostic stuff. Cheers, MM.

Davey,

Depending on what you are using it for then 128mb of memory is enough. if you are just using it for workshop stuff try this first.
  1. Click on the Start Button
  2. Right click on "My Computer"
  3. Click on Properties
  4. On the windows that pops up click on the advanced tab at the top
  5. Now click on the Settings button under the Performance heading
  6. On the performance options window select the Visual effects tab at the top and then click the radio button that says Adjust for best performance.
  7. Click on the advanced tab then at the bottom click on the Change button under the Virtual Memory Hadding
  8. On the virtual Memory window make sure the radio button next to "System Managed Size is selected" then click the "Set" button to the right.
  9. Click OK
  10. Click OK to the message abut restarting the computer
  11. Click OK on the Performance options Window
  12. Click Ok on the System properties Window
  13. Restart the computer
This will get rid of all the fancy look of Windows XP but will free up quite a lot of memory.

Cheers Keith but to be honest its just soooo slow even booting up and memory is still pretty cheap, I can put 1GB in it for less than £30 so it doesn't make sense not to really.
