well , the strip down literally took an hour! then welded all remaining areas.. I still need to attach my seatbelt mounts but ill just take the primer off :-) It feels odd going back on yourself to progress forward!

still needs some areas painting and then a 2nd coat and then a black hammerite over coat!!

next on the list ...
weld in a steel section for my pedal box to sit on
propshaft (fit the uj)
brakes
fuel tank
and pump!
and track rod ends!

howdy doo all! well ive been pretty busy i guess ! measured all up to buy my ally! steering is all sorted and smooth as smooth can be ! :-)

done some more painting and secured my pedal box etc etc ...

me and my mongy face ;-)

Watch this space ! more progress to come quickly! hopfully!!

:D Just imagine the look on your face when that engine is in & working :D

Wow you have been busy , Its looking great  Like the wheels too.

Its nice to see a pile of steel that was on my garage floor turn into a great looking chassis, nice work Michael .

One question tho if I may ?
Why have you positioned D3 & D4 in that way ? soz for asking :o just caught my eagle eye.

Great progress.

cheers
andy

I think so, as i have a concentric slave cylinder for my clutch so i have no major moving parts there :) and its getting the usual ally tran cover :)

No worries, as the angles on each end of D3 & D4 are the same, its easily done , (sorry for spotting it :o )

This is the order I would do things for your following purchases...

ally sheets
fuel tank & pump
prop
suspension

My reasoning would be that you could possibly get all the first 3 done within the cost of buying / sorting the suspension & so its more done than buying the suspension first, ....but thats me :D

I look forward to more progress pics

cheers

Cheers mate. I live near Asda, but my build will be happening soon in my unit down Marsh Lane, around the back of Snowflake, Tec business park.
I've got a street ported N/A 13b RX7 + gearbox and I've just got a LSD MX5 MKI diff, gonna get a few more bits next month then order the steel and start building and add a thread here :)
Should be good compact engine to play with.

Dave.
