Ford changed their insulation for a few years, cripples many otherwise healthy engines with random faults..

I moved mine (RS2000 16V) on my own, in and out of a van.... so I'm either awesome strong, or its not that heavy :D But they are taller..... my bonnet has a 6mm high teardrop bulge to clear the oil filler cap

A DOHC engine fits under the bonnet. My oil cap however is higher than the bonnet line. So if it fits under, does it matter that the engine you have already got, is a taller than a Zetec?

A dohc has the same thermostat position, so the plumbing isn't going to change much if you move to a zetec in the future. The exhaust and inlet are also in the same place.... so the bonnet does not have to be "scrapped".

People are all a bit melodramatic when it comes to the DOHC engine. "It will eat your children and make you blind!!!"

Also if anyone is ditching the DOHC, can I have it :D

I have had a number of I4 DOHC sierras... And every time I have said

"NEVER AGAIN"

I hate them.

My Galaxy has a 2.3 16...

I don't Realy like it...

But they are good solid torquey smooth units...

I am just a V6 man
