£37 a Litre for a 2pak max meyer with pearl and mica in it the local bsb branch. as long as you dont go for crazy 4-5 part process stuff its not too expensive. i can easily paint a golf sized hatchback with 2-3Litres of paint so all in i would say materials would be about £300. something like the roadster would be max £150 in materials for a basic metalic

So we opted for the take as long as you like and 1500 folding things option.
Local place wanted £3000 to paint it:eek:

Queer that one Mark, just asked the body shop across from me and if somebody walked in off the street he priced £300 for a full 10 piece body kit including base coat and lacquer. To do individual panels, to a professional finish, would be obviously a lot less. You can purchase spray basecoat from most motor factors now to any colour to do yourself at a very reasonable price.

Somebody's been had there.

Glad someone else lives in the real world.

There was me thinking that I must have imagined the paint prices I was quoted only yesterday

Funny the subject of paint should crop up.

Just so happens that my eldest lad got a quote recently for a full re-spray of his Subaru.
1.7k -2k max, inclusive of all door closures.

This quote was from a highly respected local company well renowned for its top notch custom paintwork.

Poor old Scooby is suffering from the dreaded Red paint syndrome & going dull if not polished weekly .... Well apart from the plastics I painted over 3 years ago with a budget ICI paint product, still looking as good as the day I sprayed them :)

Sorry Spud

This is all geting very much off topic :o

Bet you have made a big hole in that list of panels being sold for not a lot

Yes it is Ronnie - Like a lot of threads seem to at the moment!!!!

Never mind it's just nice to give people the choice and i'm sure they can make their own minds up.

There is just under half odd and ends left so going to put it over on Locost soon and let others have a chance. As you said before there is very little work to do on them so its a shame to let them go to waste.

Hi Andy, have you still got 6B available? I'm assuming this is the bonnet for the dohc engine? If yes then I'll take it as I'm prob going to vinyl wrap

Cheers

Hi Rapid,

It's the wide scoop bonnet you need for the dohc, although you still need to alter the plenum chamber - Enoch has a guide to this in his build guide. Afraid all the wide scoop bonnets have gone though.
