Finally Everything Fits

well its taken nearly 3 months but everything finally fits, its running and once the transmission tunnel and dash are back in its drivable.

So you can fit a saab 2.0 turbo with an omega box and all the extra crap that goes with it in a standard dimension type9 chassis JUST!!

Looking really good Ash, thanks for the pictures they will help alot when I start to put mine in.
I am still having problems locating a R28 gearbox. Lots R25-R28s
What people do not realised that these engines have forged internals as standard.:D

AshG 23rd March 2011 08:54 PM

they all have r25-28 wrote on them. the difference is the car it comes out of. it needs to be from a 3.0 v6 omega to be sure it has r28 internals.

there is another marking that is like this

JM 108 98 B

Translationof code below
JM(version code) 108(day of the year) 98(year) B (A-morning shift B-Afternoon Shift)

for it to be r28 internals the first two letter need to be JM, GL, PL anything else and it will be an r25.

Cool

Now that's what I call a propper engine bay full Ash:)

I bet you are just dagging to get the Roadster back on the road ready to enjoy this spring sunshine :D

Just read your latest article in CKC, great read mate & look forward to the next issue :)

very very nice! that monster + wet roads.... have fun ;)

looks sweet too, just throwing it out there but is a bonnet really necessary? covering that up would be a sin! either that or make a clear one?

AshG 23rd March 2011 09:52 PM

it does seem a shame to cover it up. but... if the noise of the turbo or waste gate chatter doesn't give it away the dump valve will :D

its been hard going ronnie glad you enjoyed the article. doing the roadster and the exocet at the same time as well as a 60 hr week at work is really wearing thin so im glad the roadster just needs a days work to have it road worthy :D biggest challenge will be mapping it to take advantage of the power but not make it too mental to have fun. the pinto didnt scare me. im hoping this will :D
