Hi, could anyone tell me the approximate weight for a pinto engine and box.

Thanks for the replys great information will be really helpful,a guy over the road has an engine I think is suitable that he does not want, I thought we could man handle it but will use some form of lifting aid now.

tip it over to slide a sheet of ply under it and drag it across if its only over the road. You would be amazed the weight a couple of guys can drag on a piece of ply.

Great engines, got one in the Westfield on twin DCOE's :) just about bomb proof except for the odd oilway problem. They are affectionately known as boat anchors for a reason tho :eek:

I have a number of wheeled dollies for my engines to sit on. Very usefull. Just have to watch they don't tip off!

My Type9 was 39 kg dry. Including the gearstick.
