Anyone going to newark on saturday?

Hi Russ, not sure what day I am going yet, my mate that I normally go to the shows with had a bereavement this week so if he doesn't want to go I will more than likely go Saturday but if he still wants to go it will be Sunday. But yes I will be going sometime over the weekend.

Yeah I will be there. Will actually be my first 'kit car' show.
I was thinking Saturday. Does anyone know if everything is the same on both days?

I was there sunday last year, think it is all the same pretty much but a bit quieter!

but the weather was crap last year i havnt seen the forcast for this weekend

When did we meet up last year arfon, was that donnington?

Yeah mate it was I was talking to the 750 motor club people at Stoneleigh and they were saying they are not going to be at Donnington this year at least not when the show is on

Well its a pass out for sunday for me so Saturday in the workshop and Sunday at the show,
Yeah Russ it really is a shame because there was some really good racing last year, I hope the guy got it wrong and there is some racing

Just got back from Newark and am very disappointed some really nice cars about but in the main hall there were a lot of empty spaces like i said very disappointed

Was it as empty as Detling?

i went yesterday and i have to agree the main hall was very empty i had hoped to see a lot more suppliers i was even ready to buy my dampers if i could find them at the right price but there was no one to buy from !!! and to be honest the displays from the clubs were few and far between i was very disappointed

Though the same too. Wasnt sure if it was just the saturday but outside was more empty space than in outer space :mad:

Managed to pick up various bits that I was after but definitely less choice than last year

I went with a shoping list and the accountant even gave me some white fivers to go in my pocket, and permission to spend them, with next to nothing there on my list to spend them on.
And just like an accountant she comes up with , well if you didnt need all your budget this time I am cutting it for the next one.

Back in 98 when I built my other car going to a show was the only place to get most of the gear. It would take the whole day just to see everything.

I went to Stoneleigh this year and it was tiny in comparison to how I remember.

The internet and especially eBay means these guys dont need the shows anymore and their business isnt as seasonal so they dont bother going.
