flyerncle 29th April 2014 10:26 AM

Me! Going to Manchester Saturday and travelling to Stoneleigh for Sunday.

We should all wear pink t-shirts (not)

Bright yellow polo shirt 6ft 2in brick out house style if anyone wants to say hello :p

TheArf 29th April 2014 12:42 PM

I will keep an eye out for the pink t-shirt then

Arfon

metal matt 29th April 2014 01:08 PM

I will be going with my boy having a boys day out away from the missis but dont tell her i said that

Badger 29th April 2014 09:24 PM

Yeah, I'll probably be there. I'm quite easy to spot - short, wearing a black jacket and usually a black hat as well.
I like black, it hides the oil :D

rpjg1975 29th April 2014 09:34 PM

I may be, as usual all plans are up in the air so will probably be a spur of the moment thing.....:D

j.brownster79 29th April 2014 10:17 PM

I'm there most probably the Sunday got my list at the ready!

flyerncle 30th April 2014 09:10 AM

You will be disapointed Arf :p

Defo brighto yello !

dubzter 30th April 2014 01:17 PM

I haven't posted much on here as I haven't started my build yet, haven't even decided what components or chassis flavour I'm going for yet. Anyway I've managed to wangle a work trip down from the far North of Scotland and I'm hoping to be there at some point on Monday afternoon.

TheArf 1st May 2014 08:31 AM

I think Ayjay is going on Monday

Arfon

flyerncle 1st May 2014 12:38 PM

jason 1st May 2014 05:14 PM

Hi all, I am going on Monday. Let's hope the weather is kind to us. I will be the one in the blue roadster. With the Cosworth engine. Hope to meet some of you there.

robj 1st May 2014 07:04 PM

I'm going on the monday. Just got to sort the shopping list, I'll keep an eye out for the roadsters

j.brownster79 1st May 2014 07:06 PM

I was thinking the Sunday but seems most people are on the Monday is it big enough to spend two days there?? Never been before.
Went to donnington last year and was a little disappointed!

flyerncle 2nd May 2014 08:43 AM

No sense of humour then :p

csherwood 2nd May 2014 09:18 PM

I am planning to be there on Monday.

I need to see if I fit in a Haynes Roadster or if I need to build a longer one!

Donny is much smaller than Stoneleigh. A lot of what you end up seeing at Stoneleigh can depend on the weather as so much of it is outside. Last year, the weather was very nice and there was lots to do and see. The year before, the weather was awful, there were relatively few club cars and I got around the whole show much quicker. The weather looked fair when I looked at the forecast earlier.

I'll be there on the Sunday, I'm hoping to get a good glut of work done on the car on Monday :)

rich 3rd May 2014 09:42 PM

I will be there on the Monday with the kit. Not quite sure where to park it when I get there. Last year parked next to a burger van as midland kit and sports car club stand didn't materialise.
It's a nice run to stoneleigh, some nice winding "b" roads from Tamworth to Cov

PorkChop 4th May 2014 11:06 PM

Today was good, lots to see, it took up a full day. Weather was pretty good, not too hot. The wallet went on a bit of a diet too, apparently it wanted to shed a few pounds :D

Saw a few members' cars in the club section too, looking good chaps :)

Plenty of support from the manufacturers, you knew when you were approaching the MEV/RTR stand!

All in all, I think I got some enthusiasm back :)

flyerncle 5th May 2014 12:12 PM

Went on Sunday and as promised wore a bright yellow polo shirt and not one person said hello, did get plenty of looks though.

Much better than Donny.

dubzter 5th May 2014 07:17 PM

So glad I made the trip from the North of Scotland

Meant to add a smiley at the end of it :D I didn't make it over to the pitch until about 15:00 today, only flew into Heathrow at 11.00, by the time I got my bags, got the hire car, battled the M40 I arrived about 14:30. My first kit car show and there was some stunning machinery on display. Just a pity I couldn't have been earlier to meet some folk. Anyway it was a bonus to make it at all as I'm down here with work.

dubzter 5th May 2014 09:01 PM

Quite fancied a run in this but not £10 for about 30 seconds or whatever it was

TheArf 6th May 2014 09:37 AM

Had a great day on Sunday, went mainly for items for the Cobra this year but did get a few bits and bobs fore the roadster. Got an inlet manifold, Edelbrock carb and a big chrome filter for the rover V8 posted to home for £620 which I thought was a bargain as the cheapest I have found on the internet was £820 plus postage.

Arfon

flyerncle 6th May 2014 09:42 AM

You never said Hello !:p

Had the bright yellow polo shirt on.

jps 7th May 2014 11:49 AM

I went on Sunday - but had forgotten what colour T-s to look out for!

First kit car show I'd been to - interesting stuff there and I found it helpful to get a really close up look at how people have put their cars together - I came back with about 60 photos - hardly any of them actually showing a complete car - mostly closeups of rivets, fixings and cable routing!!!

Plenty of enthusiasm regained - and I am now far less concerned about some of the issues of fine accuracy that had been troubling me - some of the panel gaps I saw were massive when you got close up - but the cars looked fine from a few feet away!

Still can't believe the replica Porsche 917 in the main hall - fantastic idea though - although probably best focus on the Roadster for now! The Porsche 550 spyders looks excellent too...

TheArf 8th May 2014 09:13 AM

Didn't see a bright yellow tee shirt hence I didn't say hello, anyway I was looking out for a bright PINK tee shirt

Arfon

flyerncle 8th May 2014 03:08 PM

Worst excuse I have ever heard, read the post no mention of wearing pink t shirt :p

I was the only one in the place with one on towing a blonde dwarf around with me !

Wain 8th May 2014 07:59 PM

I was there on the Sunday and spent most of the day looking for a club sign saying 'Haynes Roadsters'. Now i see why i could not find our club, it is labeled as a locost club.
O well, i will have my car on that stand next year :-)

j.brownster79 8th May 2014 09:13 PM

Why is there not a haynes stand? there must be a few complete builds by now I'm hoping to take mine next year! :)

PorkChop 30th April 2015 11:23 PM

Who's going to Stoneleigh this year?

I haven't seen it mentioned on the forum yet, it's this weekend :)

TheArf 1st May 2015 08:55 AM

As usual I will be there on Sunday, I think Ayjay is going on Monday.
Got my shopping list ready £150 CBS alone and that's only on small items.
Don't tell the kitchen accountant
;)

Ianr 1st May 2015 09:01 AM

I am going and taking a Billy Connolly impersonator and a helicopter pilot with me as back up on Sunday. Also delivering some seats I sold on ebay, meeting someone I've bought some things off, with luck I'll be able to have a look round :)
Next year I want to take my car :)

Stot 1st May 2015 10:12 AM

I fancy a trip but SWMBO has plans for Sunday and its her birthday Monday.

Cheers
Stot
