Head lamps
hi all, does anyone know how far apart the head lamps should be or how long the pipes for the head lamp holders are?
Cheers Samy |
my headlamp brackets are 12cm from the chassis rail to the center of the hole in the bracket, this then makes the holes between the 2 brackets 90cm wide, tho it depends where on the chassis you weld the brackets, mine are welded above the upper shock mounting bracket.
hope that helps. andy |
hey andy , thanks for the reply its exactly what i needed to know, i will have them in place tomorrow:D & they will be in the same place as yours are so this has realy helped.
thanks Samy |
no prob, glad to help,
a little tip..... don,t forget to angle the end of the headlamp bracket tube that you weld to the chassis rail, other wise your headlights with look cross eyed  ;) andy |
 lol, now that would not look good.
cheers |
7 degrees i believe.
now thats sad is i havent seen the book for about a month lol. dont forget to use andys measurements as a guide. if you fit different size headlights to what andy is fitting you may run into problems |

Samy..... as Ash has said, be careful on the dimensions of the headlight you use as there is maximum distance they are allowed to be from the outer edge of the front cycle wing to the outer edge of the headlamp bowl ( i think its 400mm ) as per the IVA manual. andy |
its 400mm from the widest point of the car

Ash,
I,m confused by the 7 degree angle, are the supports horizontal with the frame and the angle makes them parallel with the front frame. Or are the brackets angled up or down from the horizontal, if you get my gist. Please see attachment. Peter |
Hi Peter,
hope its ok to respond as not sure if Ash is online till later in the evenings..... the 7 degrees is as your diagram A, so that the stalks are parallel with the front frame, the stalks are set at the horizontal level with the top of TR1 & TR2. sorry if i shouldn,t respond but thought you might be working on your chassis this afternoon:o cheers andy |
Cheers Andy,
You're right, I am having a go this afternoon - snowed off from work !!!! Peter |
cheers andy. from memory i think it was 7deg it may be more or less but themounts should sit like pict a
