Well as some of you already know my car has been complete for a couple of weeks now
The only things left to do is bolt my roll bar and wing stays back on after saturn have had them powdercoated and a couple of nice easy jobs like edge trim my seats and bolt the harnessess in :D The chassis no is on and registered with dvla and the iva forms are in and im just waiting for a date I have had a little drive of the car and im absolutely chuffed with it (it doesnt look too bad either if i may say so myself :o ) Thanks to anyone who has helped me when i was stuck scratching my head and thanks to Chris for writing the book and designing such a cracking car Bring on IVA  |

A photo doesn,t do the car justice, it is stunning in every respect, Mark.... a HUGE well done mate & good luck with your IVA  cheers andy |
really nice looking car. hope mine will come out half as good
|
Good luck m8. I am guessing it makes the mondeo feel like it's in neutral ;)

looking great mark. not sure about the black scuttle but it certainly makes the orange pop. i really do need to get my finger out and paint my side pannels and rear tub.
one little tip. raise the ride hight as much as you can for iva she is looking a bit low on the front at the moment. if your lucky you might just scrape stoneleigh if dvla are really efficient. |
That looks a really neat build.
Well done mate. One thing I did notice is your side reapeters. Are they in the wing mirrors only? I thought for the IVA they need to be seen from the rear. (Could be wrong, has happened before.. ) |
An excellent job, well done Mark.
Looking forward to the IVA down at Beverly and seeing Paul again. Thanks for the Cookies on Saturday..... AndyH ps have you got your build diary and receipts all ready for DVLA |
TT - After being in the roadster the mondeo feels like im driving a trifle!
Ash - Thanks for the tip, it is sitting low at the moment but as its reversed up the ramps on the pic it looks even lower, i was having an iva inpectors view of under the back end checking all the brake and cable runs. I was a little unsure about my black scuttle too but just went for it as i wanted to break up the orange a bit hence all black arches too. Im considering some black stripes maybe some computer whizz can edit them onto my photo so i can see what they look like. Im hoping/praying that its road legal for stoneleigh, should have been ready ages ago but had trouble with the brakes (dont we all  ) and been mega busy at work, but fingers crossed. Would love to get some pics of the completed roadsters together. By the way, who did you use for insurance? Dogwood - There is actually some siderepeaters on the side near the rear bonnet catches but you cant see them on the pics as they are so well camouflaged in the orange! I have also ran some wires into the scuttle incase i need to mount them there, but by my measurements they are visible from the rear, only just though. |
I used Sureterm.
It cost me about £160 I think. But I needed full Euro cover inc Breakdown cover. I know Ash's was a lot cheaper, but cant remember who he used. |
I will be having two tone GRP.. :)

use this colour changer to add the racing stripe ,there are 11 different styles.
http://www.mcgregormotorsport.co.nz/...colour-schemer orange is red 100% green 37% black is red 3% green 2% ps car looks fantastic, how about a few more pics from different angles. |
i went with 2gether. £100 for the year 5000miles parts only.
|
Looking good, congratulations on getting this far, hope all goes well for IVA.
