IVA Pass this morning!!!!!!

Took my car to Beverley this morning for an 8am test, nice friendly place and very easy going & helpful, Mac was the testers name and he was great.
No problems, first time pass, noise level was 96db and we were done by around 11.00.
DVLA in Beverley took my papers ok but can`t do the check as my local office is Lincoln (I have enquired about this over the last week or so & been told different things by different people at the DVLA (un)helpline!!!)
Anyway nothing can upset me today I`m just glad to get the IVA out of the way.
For those interested yes I had 2 bolts holding the Rollbar stays, and I have tried to upload some photos but they are 721kb & max is 93kb to post on here, can anyone help???

Dennis.

EXCELLENT.......:D

Another first time pass, Mac and Paul are excellent at Beverley. Still very strict but fair with it.

Shame the DVLA are a bunch of T**s*e*s though everywhere you go.

For the fotos use Paint to reduce the size by 20% and re-save them.

Well Done....>AndyH

Congrads on the pass! To upload photos upload them to a photo hosting site like photobucket and then copy the [IMG] link and post it on here.

BIG WELL DONE. whats the deal with the rollbar stays? wasnt planning on having any but my seat belt mounts arent on the bar anyway.
Ray:)

drury318 19th May 2010 03:47 PM

Thanks everyone, I`ll have a go at the photos later on, don`t hold your breath though!!!
Ray, the rollbar stays are only relevant if the seat belt mounts are on them I believe. It was something AshG had failed on and it has become a bit of a talking point on here if anyone passes, I don`t think it will affect you though, Cheers, Dennis.

A big well done Dennis

Great news on you IVA pass  :)

It is allways brilliant news to hear that another build has reached the milestone of the IVA test :)

Not be too long until you are on the road & what a great time of the year to have the Roadster ready to hit the sunshine

davidimurray 19th May 2010 04:26 PM

Congratulations - great to see another roadster on the road. Time to celebrate and sit back and enjoy all the hard work you've put into the car.

adrianreeve 19th May 2010 07:29 PM

Cracking result - well done you!!

Can I ask, do you have a Zetec engine installed, and if so where did you get your exhaust from?

Well done again!

Cheers

Adrian

David_17 19th May 2010 07:39 PM

If you do have a zetec installed, is it running on injection with a cat?

drury318 19th May 2010 07:43 PM

Hi Adrian, yes it is a Zetec engine, the exhaust was from Martin Keenan in Maltby, I mocked up a sort of jig using a manifold plate from GBS Robin Hood and some flat bar then took it to him as he lives only 30-40 mins from me.
He may do the same for you if you call him, he will explain what I did, tell him Dennis RAC man from Scunthorpe & he`ll know who you mean.
It`s really well made & looks the dog`s whatsits, I just need to remove that heat wrap! Dennis.

David, it`s runnung on Suzuki throttle bodies, Canems ECU & no cat as it`s Feb `92 engine

Enoch 19th May 2010 07:54 PM

Well done that man, great to see another one has passed. Must get my finger out and get some garage time in so I can get mine through:)
Best and all that,
Enoch

slimtater 19th May 2010 08:07 PM

Well done on the pass - let me know when it is all sorted and I can get you a build plaque. Sorry, but I think you are no. 13!

Headshot 19th May 2010 09:31 PM

That looks bloomin' brilliant (PG language mode engaged)

I hope beyond hope that my build is near that in looks :)

Well done :)

flyerncle 20th May 2010 09:12 AM

Well done on a first time pass, obviously well built.

drury318 20th May 2010 09:58 AM

Thanks for everyone`s comments, all much appreciated.
What I would say is that VOSA have a dedicated IVA Technical helpline, usually answered by a REALLY helpful & pleasant chap called Mark Vickers, (I think Spud has mentioned him also ), if I had any queries I saved them up `til I had a few then called him, he then explained anything in great detail.
I won`t give the number on here but it is readily available to the public if you enquire with VOSA, it`s well worth it if you are sensible about what you ask him. Dennis.

spud69 20th May 2010 10:48 AM

Well done Drury, again, now i've seen the pics the car looks excellent.

I can vouch for Mark at VOSA, he is a very helpful and productive chap who will insist in any way he can. He may take a few days but if builders save up their queries then, if the forum cant help, then he will certainly clarify any technical issues. He is also doing a great job in standardizing the testing regime and interpretation of the IVA testing criteria. I just wish that DVLA could get their finger out as they are a pain in the butt to work with, having to take Mark's car to VOSA at Darlington this afternoon because they couldn't be bothered last week to walk 50yds out of their office at Stockton last week to inspect an engine and chassis number.....:( :(

Regards....Andrew
