Gonna Spoil Handys Glory

:D Just had a text for HAndy and his prop has arrived, it is fitted and he's just backing the car out of the garage for a test spin round the cul-de-sac. :D

Hope he got the brakes sorted.....

Bet he's like "a dog with 2 *icks" at the minute.

Well Done Andy......AndyH

twinturbo 20th August 2010 03:39 PM

Rotten sod, you stole his thunder:D
He'll probably be a bit incoherent for a while anyways.

spud69 20th August 2010 04:40 PM

Couldn't stop myself Dave - dont worry though he'll be on just now either full of thunder / hell / fury - one of the three.

Well done to him......:o

Coozer 20th August 2010 04:50 PM

Hope he had his rain coat on:eek:

twinturbo 20th August 2010 05:01 PM

been a little rainy over this side too today.

spud69 20th August 2010 05:20 PM

Its fine in sunny teesside - mind you got drenched on the track last week, got out of the car and there was 6" pool of water in the seat. And no it wasn't yellow....:D

"WHAT a feeling" .........

I,ve been out many many times as a passenger in Spuds car & Mark,s car but nothing could,ve prepared me for the feeling of a mixture of nerves / excitement & being honest the emotion of the first drive of MY Roadster :D .

what an amazing feeling, even tho I,ve only driven it 400yards & only got to use 1st & 2nd & reverse gear........it just felt soooooo right

no prob Spud creating this thread, I didn,t have my dongle with me so couldn,t log on.

goes without saying....." I,m on a high".

cheers
andy

Cheers guys :)

If ever I,ve needed a kick up the jacksy to get motivated & finish my car....that first drive was IT :D

I was really impressed at the turning circle, & the steering felt nice & self centered which I was/am pleased with:cool:

I,ll have to get spud to come over & video it soon.
cheers
andy

David_17 20th August 2010 07:15 PM

I'll bring up the car trailer and take it for a shakedown on the track....:D

Enoch 20th August 2010 07:47 PM

Wayhay!!! Well done on getting this far, can't be that much left to do now. Looks like you will finish well before me, I really look forward to seeing some piccies of the finished product. You must be well proud of what you have achieved. if I was there I would definitely by you a beer but I'm not so I will down one on your behalf :D
Best and all that,
Enoch

HandyAndy 20th August 2010 07:58 PM

David 17......cheers , yes it feels great, its a strange feeling tho, can,t quite explain it but what ever it is "Its Great" :D

Spud..... I don,t think I can afford a track day just yet, saving the pennies for the test, but if you know of a private road then bring the trailer  & that,d be a great photo shoot....yours, Marks & mine all together ;)

Enoch....cheers mate, I,m hoping to go for the IVA in October, things left to do.....

Finish tranny tunnel panels,
cover dash in vinyl
make & cover the boot lid
fit the rear indicators/brake lights
fit mirrors & side repeaters
put new tyres on ( thanks spud )
tidy up the last bit of wiring in spiral wrap/conduit
fit petrol filler hose & cap once bootlid is in place
Oh & fit the battery clamp

Think thats about it.

Yes its a proud feeling, like I said to David as above, can,t explain it, sort of slightly in awe that I can say " I built that" ( with lots of help from lots of forum members along the way, thanks guys).
cheers for the beer....enjoy:D

cheers
andy

AshG 21st August 2010 10:39 PM

finally got the prop on then :D i felt exactly the same as you. my first little drive really spurred me on. the only thing with taking it for a quick spin is it gives you a new list of little things you need to do :D

well done its now a car :D

just got back from america after several weeks of driving lazy v8's i thought f' it. jumped in the roadster and took her out for a good run, even though it looked like it was about to piss it down. lets just say after a few weeks of not driving it i forgot how quick and nimble it was.
