Lamp switch
hi,
I'm stripping out the unwanted parts of the Sierra wiring loom and have come across part 133 (lamp switch). As its over a year since I removed it from the donor I can't remember what it was. I did label up most of them but as it was constantly raining whilst I did it, this one must have passed me by. Can anyone help ? Cheers Peter |
pop up a picture.
TT |
is that a haynes diagram reference??
|
It is the haynes reference, the switch has upto 5 connections depending on which model of car,etc and they are numbered 30,31,55,56,58 on the drawings. I haven't found the switch yet and I've had 3 days at it !!!! The electrics are doing my head in more than the front frame did !
Thanks for your inputs Peter |
Perhaps it`s the interior light delay relay, a yellow one, or the dash light dimmer switch in the instrument binnacle?
|
Post a piccy.
|
Have to wait till I get home for a piccy
|
Peter,
Part 133 as labeled in the Haynes manual, is the headlight on/off switch on the steering column. You will need to keep the wires for it. Cheers Dave |
Colour codes would also be useful.
Is this an 89> Car? TT |
The car is a K reg 92/93 and the colours are red, brown, brown and black and grey.
|
Is it a black, rectangular conector near the steering column/cluster?
I will check the diagrams tonight but I suspect it will be the "Lights on" warning chimer, which is a black box about 1" x 1" x 2" with a grill on the top. TT |
2 Attachment(s)
I've inserted 2 attachments, the first is the plug and the second is our new puppy chewing my loom !!
|
The colours match the light stalk which is combined with the wiper stalks.
TT |
picture looks right too. ( the one of the plugs not the dog )
TT |
As I won't be using the wipers do I need this plug ?
Cheers |
you need a two position light switch of some sort.
Theres not a lot of point fitting the full stalk just for lights. TT |
