RMD wheels
Has anyone bought a set of the RMD kit car wheels? I had a look at them at Stoneleigh and they looked very nice. I would love to have a set of Team Dynamics Pro Race 1.2s but at over £30 more per wheel I am struggling to justify the extra £120 that will pay for some other nice goodies!
Just wondered if anyone had any opinions on these wheels? |
Are these the one's Dave ?
RMD Alloys Never come across them before, I quite like them though :) The price is certainly a lot lower that the Team Dynamic's 1.2's May I ask if you saw them on a RD stand at a show or have you seen them being sold direct ? That is the kinda look I want for my build & at a price that I can live with  :) |
Yup those are the ones Ronnie.
I saw them on the RD stand at Stoneleigh. The wheels only come in ford fitment and a single size. But that has allowed Rally Design to order a big batch and hence the price. I think one of the members on here is connected with Rally Design - perhaps they could give us some more info? |
Thank's Dave :)
With a little luck, I might be able to see them in the flesh at Exeter this year. Being a Ford only fit is a bonus for me, for some strange reason I really do not like multi fit alloys ( Unless they have a centre cap ) As said, they have the multi spoke look that I had in mind  Personally, I have a sweet spot for the Minilite alloys but the sheer cost of them is prohibitive at the moment  |
I bought a pair of pro race 1.2's 15" in black off ebay for £255+ £30 postage so there are deals to be had. Perfect condition apart from 1 which has a small kerb on it.
Keep a look out you might find a bargin. |
I am recycling something from my collection. Not made a descision yet :)

Here's whats on my build at the mo
![]() They came off an Escort GTI, I am sure TT will know what they are called :) Could live with them if I had too .... Got a nice new set of Toyo's ready to fit to whatever I end up with :) :) |
They look nice Ronnie, if you sand all the scuffs off them and take them into a car sprayer and get them painted and lacquered, black i would say, they will look really cool. Go well with the Red.
Look very similar to mine.....:) AndyH |
Unofficialy " Baby Cosworths " as they originaly appeard in much wider form on the Escort Cosworth.

![]() Although they're white at the mo, need redoing back to how they were in the above pic. |
Just like that David,
look really good except your bonnet is not sticking up....;) Andy |
He he he, that was before the swap ;)
|
Thank you David & Andy :)
They do not look too bad in Black do they :) :) |
No problem. :) Here's how they look in white.
Nightmare to keep clean tho, especially after going on a trackday, the brake dust melts into the paint. ![]() |
Thank you David :)
I must say, quite taken by them in White  Probably go rather well with Red, don't know if it's just me .... They seem to look a little bit more dainty in White. No problem keeping them clean .... I'll just get the wife to do it .... Then the fight started :D :D |
Hahaha. If you're doing them white, i'd reccommend getting them powdercoated or atleast done professionaly with 2k paint. (if you plan on ever going on the track)
Normal road use is fine with a DIY paint job (halfords aerosols in the both the pics i've posted) |
I'm thinking of getting some of those ' baby cosworth' wheels, does that width work ok on a roadster? my donor has 5.5 inch wheels on, I think the escort gti ones are 7 inch?!
