What material do you require in made from? Is it just the one you require? What is the tolerence? Are you going to press fit a bearing, if so its easiler to send the bearing to the person who makes so they can measure it accuratly.

When do you need it?

james3004 5th August 2011 07:09 PM

It sticks onto the original bearing to extend it, I would imagine that mild steel would be good enuff? As for tolerance half a mm. yeah just the one needed it is to fit the mt75 box to the zetec bottom end

Dont worry mate im in no rush, the weddings next weekend so i have been banned from playing in the garage for the rest of the month!

Dan I would'nt want to upset your other half as I remember thinking she could give you a damn good thumping, besides wedding photos with the groom with black eyes will just spoil it :D

dan_g8 5th August 2011 08:30 PM

oh yes, best to keep on her good side!

james3004 5th August 2011 08:40 PM

I hadn't realised that burton sold them, but westfield want nearly 90 quid for them stuck to the thrust bearing!

Wgroove 5th August 2011 08:52 PM

Is this for using on a MT75 ?
I needed this also for use on my Zetec 2.0 - MT75 combination, but found another much cheeper solution.

Wim

dan_g8 5th August 2011 09:00 PM

yes its for mt75

Wgroove 5th August 2011 09:02 PM

The guy's from kitspares helped me out with this problem. They've sold me a small bearing (£13) that i have to put on the gearbox shaft.
Then i have to change the position of the pivot of the clutch release arm.

This is what they told me, i still have to do this modification.
But they've told me that they always do this mod on their Zero's.

Wgroove 5th August 2011 09:09 PM

Have a look at my photo's (MT75 MOD). I took these on Kitspares stand at the Detling carshow. I will take a picture tomorrow from the bearing.

Regards,

Wim

james3004 5th August 2011 09:12 PM

I don't understand how that works do you mean the spigot bearing?

Wgroove 5th August 2011 09:24 PM

Yes, the spigot bearing.

james3004 5th August 2011 10:12 PM

Is it just a treaded bar and nut?

Wgroove 6th August 2011 08:27 AM

Yes, a threaded bar and nut. You have to make the top of the bar round, with a grinder. This will be the new pivot of the clutch release arm. In this way you can adjust the position from the outside. The position has to come closer to the engine to avoid the clutch from slipping.
Forgive me my bad english, i hope you understand what i mean. :o

Wim

Thar's great thanks, i'm suprised more peoole don't know about this mod!

Wgroove 18th August 2011 06:59 PM

Added some extra pics to the MT75 folder ! Check it out !

:p :D

Bonzo 18th August 2011 08:28 PM

Nice one Wim

I quite like the idea of an adjustable fulcrum pin for the release bearing arm :)

That would suit the Type9 & the MT75 gearboxes.

Why did I not think of that when I went to hell & back looking for the correct release bearing :o :o

Talon

How much are you putting them on ebay for? With this bush are any other mods required to the clutch assembly?

Cheers
Leigh

leroybrown911 20th August 2011 12:05 PM

Talon

I also need this mod, do I need to alter the position of the clutch release arm with your spacer?

Also how much are they and when will they be available?

Cheers
