Early crimbo prezzy to me
Hi all, hope your builds are going well. I recieved an early crimbo prezzy this week in the shape of webber twin 45's . I have uploaded some photos on to my photobucket account and hopefully this will kick my ass into gear to get back into the garage, check out my new badboys mmm
|
Dam fine job they will do lol
Them coupled with a beautiful powder coated chassis coated with the diy group buy systems for about 80 quid on here should be a very fine machine when its up and going |
I'm not sure which way im going with the chassis and bits yet, I do a bit of spraying, if and when I get some spare time. I have a frame and tank for a suzuki in need of some work and now that we have sold the other house time and funds have become available, or so I thought, been asked this afternoon if I can do some dive instructing in a couple of weeks time, there go my weekends again.
|
Lol can you tell I need to shift them got 15 of them coming so they need to be sold so I can get my build savings back order my chassis kit get my donor and get to work
|
If I do decide to powdercoat I will gat in touch, hope things go well and your soon back onto your build

Those webbers are looking nice Afron :)
Nothing like a nice pice of kit to boost your build enthusiasm :) |
They do look good don't they, and at a reasonable price, still expensive but reasonable compared to tweaks or europa parts
Arfon |
They ther Webers do look good and should work well. Don't think a diy powder coating kit will do a full chassis though, diffjcult to find an oven large enough and a hot gun jusr aint going to do it.
D. |
I must agree about the size of oven needed, mind you if you had ever tasted the food in our works canteen you might think that someone had already put one through it

Ha ha! Nice carbs mate. Need a racing cam kit and ported head now!?
|
Nice,
have just received a set of ZX6 carbs today.. Not sure what I am going to do with them yet... But they look cool and the price was lovely :) TT |
Thanks Leigh, need to have a close look at the porting on the head, don't think will change the cam yet as the head is newly record
Arfon |
TT i Have just been looking through your build so have you actually decided what engine your fitting these carbs to TT as I think I counted four different engines mentioned
Arfon |
It's a 1.8 CVH for the moment..
If you could see them in my garage you would also see.... 1x24V 2.9 V6 2x12V 2.9 V6 1xBlacktop 1.8 Zetec 1xDOHC I4 2wd 1xFOHC I4 4x4 I suspect the Bike carbs will go on the CVH soon after IVA, whilst I buid up the Zetec (or a 2.0 Zetec) on Bike throttle Boddies.. TT |
Spoilt for choice there mate
Arfon |
Nothing quite like the sound of a cammed four pot on side draught webbers.
Bob:cool: |

Dont remember my 1558 twincam escort or my old lotus mk2 cortina being that bad on squirt. I know injection is the way to go but a dialed in pair of webers that are maintained properly are not that bad.
Bob |
probably cost 1 shilling and 3d per gallon LOL...
TT |
Dont laugh I remember handing a fiver through the window and saying " Fill her up"
|
I remember going up the local garage for my Dad when I was a lad ( 10'ish)
1 shilling 10d a gallon  47p a gallon when I passed my test, seemed like a fortune at the time :D :D |
42p a Liter when I passed..
TT |
Bitch all you like its not all that bad really. all things seem to be relevant.

Who remembers collecting football figure heads from the shell garage with every 5 gallons
Arfon |
I remember "put a tiger in your tank" Shell.

 5 gallons ....... I don,t think the top half of my fuel tank has been wet in a long time :D cheers andy |
Quote:
Yes i do remember the Esso keyrings. :D |
How long would it take now to collect a full set if you used to get one with a fivers worth in comparison to the price of fuel these days, think I would be applying for my renewal of license at seventy before I got a full set
Arfon |

I have an 80 ltr tank in my daily driver, fuel around here is approx £1.32 per ltr....= £105 to fill up....Gulp ....now I know why the top of my tank never gets wet :D cheers andy |
Quote:
Put £90's worth of diesel in the Jeep the other day for my trip to Dorchester  Diddly squat left in the tank after the 330 mile round trip :D Just a pity that over £70 of that went straight into the treasuary coffers  |
