You guys all seem to have alot of cars! I've only got a 2005 1.8 Toyota Avensis (wifes daily) and a yamaha ybr 125 custom (my daily).

skov 17th October 2011 09:29 AM

Here's mine, nothing terribly exciting at the moment:

2001 Alfa 147 - My current daily drive, bought on a bit of a whim about 3 weeks ago.
The list of jobs to do on it is about as long as Mr Tickle's arm and growing by the minute!

2000 Hyundai Accent - My last daily drive, dull but cheap and reliable...
Currently in reserve whilst I wait for the Alfa to explode.

2005 Renault Grand Scenic - My wife's bus

1992 Honda NTV650 - Currently SORN'd, but hoping to get it roadworthy for next summer.

wylliezx9r 17th October 2011 09:32 AM

Me Audi A3 2.0 TDI DSG
Wife Ford Ka

I hate diesels but they ain't half cheap to run :D

twinturbo 17th October 2011 10:49 AM

There's Only 2 things to be ashamed of :p

I have only ever had 1 French car, a 405 STDT bought on a whim, it was a realy nice looking example. But it came without MOT and it failed it's test and I could not be bothered... So I sold it for a loss.. Should have put some effort in as it could have been quite a good car for a few years.

Next thing I know the Plod are on the phone askign about it as it was dumped! .... Not My problem oifcer, V5 gone to DVLA for new owner..

My other Volkswagen is a Volkswagen

gaz05 17th October 2011 11:13 AM

I'm not embarrassed as I've always viewed my tintops as functional rather than fashionable. I'm also a tightwad and like to keep my motoring as cheap as possible. For that reason I buy cars and run them into the ground. (for ground, read scrapyard).

So I've got a 1998 escort which has been the most reliable car I've ever owned. Had it 10 years and still going strong. As the public visit the car park at work it's constantly getting knocked. I don't know how many headlamps it's had. Mind you I usually make a profit on the bumps. Last one gave me £80 not to go through insurance. £5 for a headlight from the local scrappy.

I've also got a 2005 facelift Focus. The wife wanted something less embarassing .

I've got a 2002 Suzuki Bandit in the garage. It does everything I want it to so see no need to buy anything else. Always kept legal but I find I'm using it less and less.

Oh and I've got about 50% of a Haynes Roadster in the garage.

twinturbo 17th October 2011 12:29 PM

Is that Scrappy still there in Acomb?

I usualy go for cheep.. I have only had 3 cars that have cost more than £1K and only 1 more than £2K ( that was the Galaxy )

This is the wifes ( yeah right ) merc

Cost £200, + £60 for the MOT :)

TT

Wynand 17th October 2011 04:13 PM

Audi A4 Tdi - daily runner
Ford Ranger 2.5T diesel 4x4 double cab pickup - towing boat, and everything else.

davidimurray 17th October 2011 04:25 PM

Me
Mk2 MG ZR 105+
K4 Suzuki SV650s

Wife
Mk 2 Fiat Punto

twinturbo 17th October 2011 04:32 PM

Quite a few bikes in this lot, I like the idea of the pace of a bike but not the chance of adding to the statistics.. hence 4 week supa light car instead ..

Yeh. Still there. Richard the son took over some years ago. He's got a thing for mercs and has a few 190s in. Thats what type of fuel pump I'm fitting when he digs one out for me.
With the price of scrap supposedly about to drop he's weighing in a lot so hasn't got much in.

Probably the most underated bike about. Rode from Amsterdam to Italy and back in 2007 and the Bil took his. Performed flawlessly and with it weighing 2/3 of a gnats bollocks quite often trashed us in the corners.

skov 17th October 2011 08:49 PM

I've got a soft spot for the original curvy SV650
In fact I liked them so much I bought 2 - one for the road and one for the track :D
That little V-Twin sounds awsome with a race can, best sounding vehicle I've owned by far!

i have a 09 mazda 6 estate sport 186 (thats a 2.2 td) i have to share with the wife since she sold her trusty micra
i also have a cagiva navigator t1000 motorbike i use almost daily
for thoes of you bikers that have no idea what that is its a bike mave by cagiva aka mv agusta (on vin plate) after thay sold dugati from the group on and used suzuki tl1000s engines to convert thair gran canyon away from a dugati engine (devloped on from old cagiva elephant)
at thist time cagiva revived the old mv name from within thair group and made the f4 to compete with the 916 series and also made a cagiva raptor and vraptor to compete with the monster range also useing the tl1000s engine

Cyberbeej 17th October 2011 10:07 PM

Coozer 18th October 2011 12:22 PM

If you don't mind I quite like these kinds of lists...

:D

Being as it has the typical drum in disk type handbrake setup, it is quite likely to do that on its own

Renewed the whole shooting match last year & still sruggled to get enough handbrake effort to pass the MOT.
I am lead to believe that this is quite common is this type of handbrake arrangement ( Certainly been my experience over the years )

That's our Yorkie acting as co-driver, he takes care of some of the more difficult driving for me :D :D

HandyAndy 19th October 2011 10:46 AM

I currently have ....

LDV Pilot van , old workhorse & got a black n white cat on the dashboard :D

shh120m 19th October 2011 05:29 PM

i used to have this, but i sold it to save up for my roadster build. Was completely standard apart from a single turbo conversion. The lag was terrible, but it was like a space ship once it got going. Selling it was one of my biggest mistakes, it was absolutely immaculate with just 20k on the clock from new. It once won a show and shine competition at elvington. Iv got to make sure that my roadster is something special to do it justice...

shh120m 19th October 2011 05:36 PM

couple more pics, im sure the car owned me, i used to polish it every weekend!

Andy_B 19th October 2011 05:47 PM

I got a loverly BMW 320 mSport and an Alfa 145 Cloverleaf which i keep going as a labour of love..it was my mothers who i lost to cancer 10 years ago tomorrow..:(

spud69 19th October 2011 06:09 PM

Was going to say Nathan that you could nearly see your face in that but you can.... I think somebody maybe missing their car. I used to have a Mazda Rx-8 that was a fantastic car till i had to start paying for my own petrol, that was 6 years ago just think how much it would cost now.

I have:

Roadster 2.0L Zetec - obviously (soon to be Hayabusa)
Citroen C5 Estate Diesel - work car
Citroen C4 1.4 petrol - Wifes car
1967 Beetle 1302 1.6L - used to be my uncles (owner from new) but could carrying on with the car, has been fully restored and is beautiful, its stuck in my home garage as i'm not really keen on Beetles so needs to be Sold.
2 builds in progress - at Saturn.

Good job i've got traders policy to cover all these.

Andy

shh120m 19th October 2011 06:19 PM

yep rotarys sure drink petrol, the older rx7s used to struggle to get beyond 18mpg and they were tiny. Id quite like an rx8, they seem to be selling for silly little money at the moment but i guess the cost is in running them:( To be honest the gto wasnt that gutsy on fuel, i used to get about 350 miles for 50 litres, as long as i was gentle with it. I once floored it with a full tank from holyhead to thirsk and had to get fuel just before i got home!

Spikehaus 19th October 2011 06:19 PM

Good choice Andy, I have the same:) Its 220 BHP, I get about 21 MPG, Ekk...

18" Bridgestone Tyres, so you got to love it and be prepared to but your hand in your pocket often.

Not to mentioned the 10 L of oil poured into it this year for 6000 miles!
