stoneleigh show, who's going?

As the title says really, is anyone going to Stoneleigh and if so are you camping there? We're hoping to go this year and it would be good to meet up with fellow builders and perhaps set up camp as a group again. We have a big Iveco Daily camper with a decent sized awning we can put up if the weather isn't so good so there will be a dry place to congregate other than the bars but bring your own beer.

If it's as cold as it was last year you want thermals, ok during the day but it was 'kin cold at night......tents are a daft way to go camping if you ask me, campers are far more civilised and warmer:D

The roadster won't be quite ready, due to my mums cancer coming back and her passing away a few weeks ago.

So the tin top will have to do or i my go up on my new bike.

Terry

Tilly819 5th March 2012 07:35 PM

That's what you call dedication to the cause.

All the way from Australia.

Davey 25th March 2012 09:57 AM

SWMBO doesn't fancy it this year so it'll probably be just me going on the Monday in the oil burning Focus.

twinturbo 26th March 2012 08:51 PM

How does one book camping? what's it cost etc???

I have just bought a trailer tent and this would be a good outing for it.

Eternal 26th March 2012 08:53 PM

Count me in! Shame my ride will not be ready by then =(

MarkB 27th March 2012 09:28 AM

Fuel at £1.50 a ltr might cock things up for most people attending shows, hell when I started riding bikes at 16 I could run my ped all week on a fiver and that included 2 stroke oil.

twinturbo 28th March 2012 09:34 PM

42.9p A Liter when I started driving in 92.

Wife thinks its a good idea, however my mondeo has just killed an injector by the look of it and they flush out bank accounts faster than a man in a black mask.

Tilly819 29th March 2012 11:26 AM

stop complaining, just be glad you dont have to fill your car up with beer!

flyerncle 29th March 2012 06:11 PM

Shillings and penny's when I started in "72"

I wont be going this year as we have a wedding to think about and most of my attention is surrounded by that at the moment

twinturbo 18th April 2012 06:54 PM

Dicided that the maiden voyage of our trailer tent should be closer to home, so going to Haven Haggerston for 3 days :)

Will be thinking of you all.

There is something about camping on a bank holiday weekend that does not appeal to me we all know that bank holidays always rain

gus 18th April 2012 10:05 PM

Should be there depending on the weather.
Gus

SeriesLandy 18th April 2012 11:42 PM

Had to postpone my stag do as my best man is in hospital, hoping he is out by the wedding.
Unfortunatly not car bits but a new bed.
Hopefully the car will be on the road by next year.

The first year that I went to the show, AshG had a garden gazebo, it rained that year, but it was a great meeting point for everyone to come and gather for a beer and BBQ and shelter from the rain. I am not sure it I will will be up this year, on the account that I am getting married in September and costs seem to be running away as always. I dont even know the 200 guests that are invited...! Also just had a large repair bill for the car to replace the coils, plugs, recovery etc following an engine flood.

Its a shame because last year I met up with Eternal and the guys who have been on the forum as long as me. was really looking forward to catching up with a few beers at the CKC event.
