There is an updated book coming out as to when is anyones guess the single seater book will be coming out soon but I dont know any dates on that either at one point they were thinking of launching the single seater at the stoneleigh show this weekend but not heard anything for a while

My best suggestion would be to buy the existing book and i download the saturn amendments as I have heard the new book is based on the saturn plans anyway

cool, cheers, trying to order the book, just need to confirm with the bank manager..lol... whats the single seater, heard peeps talking about it, is it a bit like formula ford stylee??.. or what??

vmax1974 3rd May 2012 04:34 PM

Its a 1960 style formula 1 esq car bike engined the prototype is with haynes so they can do whatever they gotta do to it cant wait to get my hands on that book should be fun to build

The development of the single seater has been a long and drawn out affair being passed from one pair of hands to another as the people who inherit it drop by the way side...so untill some one manages to get it finished and presented to Haynes we'll just have to keep following the saga

Phil you are a cynical sod:p

Last time I saw it it was finished and waiting to be sent to haynes

Talonmotorsport 4th May 2012 08:19 AM

Great so a few pics of the finished product can be posted on here to it's dedicated target market then?

Given the sad personal circumstances of the books author, that is a very low blow mate. :( :(

I am sure that Haynes will release further details on the Single Seater as and when that information is available. :)

Talonmotorsport 4th May 2012 01:14 PM

It is not ment as a low blow and what happened to Chris Gibbs was unfortunate but the fact is that every body who has had any involvement in the project has had to stop working on it due to some kind of ill health. If you ask me the body thing is jinxed.

Rome was not built in a day, I think you were on that job phil:rolleyes: . I am sure it will all happen in good time and have an avid bunch of followers.

Why dont you get off your high horse and stop being so critical of others, i suppose if it was you it would be finished, with a full production run and competing with the likes of westfield and caterum

Personal circumstances are unavoidable and sniping does no good here, some people have short memories and it may be pertinant to delete the content of the post that some may find offensive, what will be will be eventually.

The finger is not pointed at one individual, its just how I feel.

baz-r 5th May 2012 06:26 PM

come on people if you cant laugh you will cry!

seemed like a harmless banter to me i dont think it was ment with any nastyness.

les g 5th May 2012 07:55 PM

The truth is , IT HAS BEEN A " SAGA ".
I can remember seeing the bucks in Fabby's first workshop .
at the old brewery Penryn possibly 2006/2007 .
So if that ain't a long drawn out thing then i dont know what is !!!!!!!.
However i wish anybody involved in the project all the best and good/better health.
cheers les g.

Chin up Phil . i,m sure it was not a personal remark and honestly meant to be funny.

Let's be perfectly honest, what happened after some in progress pics of the single seater were posted? I wouldn't be at all surprised if the decision was made to keep the single seater under wraps until Haynes had commissioned the first print run.

I will also say that when I first saw the single seater it was shortly after it arrived at SSC. There was a lot of work that still needed to be done to it, so I think to get it to a finished stage by now is worth giving credit to all parties involved :)

vmax1974 5th May 2012 08:54 PM

Note to self never mention the single seater book on here again

les g 6th May 2012 12:18 AM

lets just hope that at the end of the day it turns out to be a viable project ...
that all can enjoy and helps promote some lively and positive debate..
after all if you are at Stoneleigh this weekend i bet you wont be able to find two identical cars........ similar .....but.. never identical..
cheers les g

Phil,
I go along with that, I got out before completely knackering my shoulder. I have had two operations in 18mths and told to kick all that fabbing and laminating malarky into touch......suits me
