My excuse is that I was up till 1am and up again at 6 to go to york races for work and now I am going to go to sleep and get paid for it

I've been up all night with 2 kids throwing up :( ones still at it this morning! I'm hoping it passes quickly and the rest don't get it as I'm due up to vmax on Monday.

Not so many people on here these days as not so many people building I guess. My build is still on hold - permanemtly now. and many other people have either completed and no longer seem to visit or have sold up.
Shame but that's how it is.:(

I have been busy stripping the scabby Sierra that I picked up recently.

Got all I need off it for the time being.

Engine, gearbox, ECU, loom, exhaust fuel tank & associated plumbing, all out.

Tomorrow I'll drag it over the road & dump her in the field until I am ready to strip the running gear from it, once that's done it'll not take long for Junior to turn the shell into a big heap of scrap. :)

Maybe everyone's too busy building sportscars!

Clearing my mates shed and racking out of my workshop today so I will have plenty of space to start my build :cool:

Taking the opportunity to spend some time back in the back garden while its not raining. (This is the bit people can't see and is on a bank so its hard work and often left till last)

Heh! I was out in the garage cutting out a dashboard panel out of plywood, then aligning front wheels with some straight edges, right angles and tape measures! Also, fit my dream wheels to the car, OZ Superleggera. In a stroke of luck (something new to me) I found them used at around £120 for the set.

Chuffed to bits!

Now that I have stopped acting like a complete prick and throwing my toys around (sorry every body and Nathan) I guess I will start posting again.
I've been a little pre occupied of late with problems both in the workshop and at home and have not had much need to say any thing on here.
Five weeks ago my 14 yr boy was rushed in to hospital for 3 weeks and lost 99% of his vocabulary for 4 days due to having Encephalitis (google it I dare you!) What with the cost of fuel and the time it takes to get there, the hospital being 30 miles away,going there twice a day and not putting many parts out of the door it has cleaned me out.
Sorry for those who have had to wait for parts but I have just not had the money to buy materials/stock to produce parts let alone the postage to get it to you.
I have had to face facts and that I can't keep Talon running as a full time business with it's current lack of trade, so I have sat and filled out my CV joined all the job sites that I can find to find a part time job. Problem is that I need it to fit in around time spent in the workshop and looking after home ect. If it comes to it then the shop will have to go and the contents of which will be sold off to try and recoup some of my losses.

Sorry to here of your problems Phil, i hope you get every thing sorted out in your favour very soon.

Just trying to justify finding IVA fee at the moment, given our awful summer weather! Also been a bit pre-occupied with our new purchase. Not everyone's cup of tea I know, but the culmination of 20 years of idle dreaming between me and my wife!

This weekend, I have mostly been in the loft boarding (part of) it out and then moving all the left over boxes from the house move out of my garage and into the loft.

I then went and bought some racking and have almost cleared enough space to start building a build table.

All I need to do then is learn to weld!! :rolleyes:

Being the otherside of the world from my dearly beloved roadster, breaks my heart that I haven't worked on her since Feb last year.
Not really sure what to do with her, because it looks like I might be staying over here for the forseeable future...

Two words Shipping container

Well im currently the cropping and machinery manager on a little 9000acre farm over here! Little place called Quindanning in Western Australia, was only meant to come over here backpacking, but with the job market at home going to crap, I thought I would weather the storm over here! Awsome place tho!
As for shipping it over here, stuff like IVA and whatever is apparently alot more tricky over here, and im not sure how it would work, IVA'ing and registering it in the UK then getting it over here!?

You could ship it over no problems.You would need to look into the fact that u will be hit with 10% get and 5% import duty on the vehicle most likely,they will also add the cost of the shipping into the price.Getting it on the road would not be a problem,u need to get an approved engineer to inspect it under construction a couple of times and then when finished.He will then sign off on it and you can then get it registered.I will try to remember and send u a handy link to my car club in welshpool in WA.

A guy that worked here sent a xjs v12 convertible to auz. From memory he paid about 6k for it but had a bit of work done on it here before it went and by the time it got there to his door it was six months. Worse than that with all the charges ,customs,storage ,shipping and handling it came out the same money as an auz one, over 20k. He was unchuffed, he reckons that customs there can jerk you off with the paper and bullshit for as long as they like and its costing all the time they hold it:eek: I suppose if you know the system there are easier routes in but that was his experience. On the Flip side I needed a screen for an old hq ute i have got and he shoved it in a box for me and by some miracle it made it all the way here intact with no problems.

Cheers guys, I looked into a container to bring a load of stuff of mine over here, from memory the shipping charges were around £2400 for a full size container, then abit more tax on top.

My good lady wife & I spent the afternoon walking the dog, not very often I am fit enough to do so these days.

Well I say walking the dog .... We decided to walk the footpath just accross the road from our place.

Nice wasn't really the word for it .... Feck me, that bleeding footpath has certainly boecome very overgrown in the last 18 months ( personaly I blame the Pixies )

Quarter of a mile in it became very dense, so I picked up the dog so as I could carry him, just as well he is a Yorkie, poor little bugger was getting stuck in the brambles.
I left the other half to follow on behind.

know I shouldn't larf but !! .... My wife is only 4ft 10" & I didn't notice that I had left her a fair way behind.
Got to the end of that section of footpath ( Little cross roads between 2 fields ).
Turned round to see where the wife was at, all I could see was the thick weeds, brambles, thistles & nettles moving about in the distance .... All I could hear was Ohh, Oww, Ouch, Bu**er, " what the F**k did you come this way for " :D :D

She finaly emerged & was definitely not amused when she saw the next section of footpath was even worse.

Needless to say, being a true gent, I dragged her accoss 5 fields of planted Maze to a more suitable footpath.

Gone most of the afternoon & only covered about 4 miles doing a small circuit of the valley. :o

Oh well at least the dog is knackered, hes not looked to go down the road this evening.

Well I was going to take the bike out for the second time this year but the lord is having a leak so thats that. Off to the cafe then for cholesterol bomb then have a fiddle with the roadster:)

I managed to get about a day and a half on my roadster during the week but since I work every weekend Its slow going and I am away in kent next week visiting the wife's family so wont get to do much for the next few weeks

Was meant to have my roadster finish by the end of this month, but thats not going to happen now.

Was told nine weeks ago that the firm i work for were cutting hours, but in stead i had my hours put, so i now work 6 days a week, with 11 hour days, plus i'm also doing private jobs.

So for the first time in my life i enough money to finish something, but i don't have time to do it.

Well i managed a few hours this week on the roadster drivetrain despite all the crap that gets chucked at me. Spent some time on the clutch/flywheel/bellhousing:cool: . I noticed the tax was out on the bike so quickly taxed it before the dvla nazi`s give me an £80 enema :eek: . Might even get to ride it now the weather has turned for the better:) .Done less than 100 miles on it this year.The bike was built in 1996 and only has 850 miles on it, what a joke.
