Looking for 1.8 CVH sump/oil pan
Hi All,
Slowly amassing parts and getting on with the build, I have come a bit stuck on whether to try and fix the aluminium sump on the Zetec engine I bought or get a cvh tin one. Does anybody have one for sale or know where one is available for less than 159.99 I was quoted from Sierra Shack? Any help would be appreciated. |
I think the guy must have quoted you for the whole car:confused: :D

That's what I thought, it did include the pick up pipe, maybe it was made of gold :D :D :D

look at blacktop 2 part sumps.

will do, thanks for the help :D

Its been done but its nasty and at least 20 years old. If you have a black top then its just as easy to weld the bottom half of it. It wont fit a silver top though.

just one this on the bay, 22 squids plus postage, hope it fits the silvertop.

bad spelling, should be ' won '
:D :D :D |
They can be made to fit, just do a search.

thanks, will do.

Happy to be proved wrong but I am sure it wont. The bearing caps are 20mm deeper on the silvertop.

Silvertop sumps fit blacktop but not the other way round |
The 1.8 CVH sump does not fit silvertops ideally, either. The rear crank seal arc has an about 4 mm gap, the front about 2 mm. The CVH gasket is thick in both arc sections. What I did cut down most of the gasket's width in the front crescent, so that the remaining strip compresses to the right thickness. Plus a liberal amount of silicone sealant.
