A Strange Request

Hi Guys,

This my sound a bit strange.

But i need 3m/4m of Police warning tape, the type they stretch between street lights.

If your wondering what i need it for. Myself and a couple of others, organise a archery christmas shoot. And this years is a Who Done It.

So if you know a police office, would you ask them if they would donate some. I'm quite happy to cover the cost of postage.

Thanks
Terry

Try a toy shop, or a fancy dress shop.

Most clubs in the country won't let you join a club until you have complete a beginners course.
To find your nearest club look here.
http://www.archerygb.org/support/clubs/club_finder.php

Don't rush in to buying your equipment until you have spoken to someone first.
I've been coaching for almost 20 years, i can't remember how many times people have bought equipment to early on, then to find it's no good buy the time they have finished a beginners course.

i went for a few weeks to one in jersey, found out what strength bow, length etc i needed, but couldnt justify spending out at the time... cant really now, but thats why i want to get an idea of prices...

Merlin and Bowsports are normally the cheapest for gear, Quicks are the dearest.

what would u say would be a decent entry level bow then??... ive been looking at w&w, hoyt, cartel stuff on ebay, told no to yamaha.... also used some french i think bow, cant remember if it was samick or summat like.... iirc, i need a 25 riser and 72" limbs.... obviously i need to get back to a club to check incase im weaker/stronger than before etc....

I've been shooting for more years than......

As TKPM says, ya need to join a club first.
Because you're not going to be able to shoot legally
in the UK except at a club.
The problem I found was, the last Target Archery club I belonged to was very Compound bow bias.
Not for me..
The other thing I found, Said with respect to TKPM, way too stuffy for my liking.
Not allowed to shoot if you're not wearing the correct shade of Green....

I joined a Fields archery club, much more to my liking.
Wear what you like, and shoot with whatever you got.
Super cheap equipment is as good as high end stuff.

But at the end of the day, you still need a club.
So my suggestion is find your local club and see what they shoot with.
Also a good place to find second hand stuff from people upgrading.

A mate of mine works in the police, I've asked and he says he'll have look.

I used to do archery aswell, you do need a club for insurance.

I have to agree about colours, it got a bit better when they aloud club to choose there own colours.

Field archery is a lot more friendly than target archery.

A 72" bow  , you must have bloody long arms. 25" Riser is stand these days for most adults.
W&W, Winstar, Roland etc are all good starter bows, Hoyt are a bit pricey for my liking.
As Dave said most clubs have good second bows for sale, i think there are 3 set of kits going in my own club.
