That was quick Ash, looks like there are still 4 or 5 of them still online and viewing user profiles. Could be an ongoing problem, for individual users to with e-mail addresses on show.

rite its relentless i have emailed haynes they can sort it out.

Just called a friend who keeps getting into trouble for hacking to see what damage he can do to them lol

The Mods have been doing a top job, today is the first time I've ever seen any spam on here, but there's shedloads now :eek:

Speaking for Handy, most of us know that he cant do much at the moment. I'm sure he wouldn't mind me saying, but things are really come back together for him now and settling down - cant say too much but i'm sure he will be taking up his role within a few weeks. It is too much for one person, especially Haynes don't take an active roll but i'm sure they'll soon kick them into touch.

Good to hear Andy's on the up :) Just a thought but could someone help out on a temp basis till Andy's back? Might just relieve a bit of pressure on Ash.

I would volunteer for that would give me something to do whilst I am at work lol

Come on haynes something needs doing now they are attacking peoples genuine threads

The whole front page of the general section is covered, don't just delete block ip's

Just spoke to admin on the phone he is going to have a look at the problem when he gets back off holiday but he snowed under today he says that to get more mods ash would have to recommend people first then he can appoint them

I am supposed to be a MOD but my powers are far to limited to do anything useful!

I know nothing about forum software so this could be rubbish but is it possible to set it so that each new user has to have their first 5 - 10 posts screened before they're allowed to become public?

Personally I don't find the current situation anything to laugh about.

Might help if you explain the current moderator situation to all of the loyal forum members out there ?!

For the record.

Yes, myself & TT were indeed appointed as forum moderators but sadly neither of us was given any access to the moderators control panel.

Click on the forum leader link & you'll see that myself & TT do not apear as moderators.

Long story short, we have no powers to deal with the current problem.

Speaking for my self, all I can do as a pretend moderator is to report a post to Haynes ( This option is open to all forum members )

For personal reasons I am have not been openly active on the forum recently.
That said, I do read most of the posts every day.

I was aware of the current spam attack early this morning, had I had any powers as a moderator I would have been more than happy to take action.

For the above reasons .... Less talk of appointing new moderators folks, we have some, all we need is the power to moderate !!

TT would have been more than capable of nipping this current problem in the bud.

Sorry if my mood seems a bit sombre, my head is not in a very good place at this moment of time ( Not been made better by reading some of this crap posted )

Either Haynes admin or the forums super moderator.

They have been asked to sort this out may times, same result, falls of deaf ears I am afraid :(

I guess at the end of the day, they do not want to give the new moderators access to the forums control panel !?

As I posted the last comment administrator1 has just logged on lets just wait and see what he can do even if he just blocks there ip addresses and gives control to the 2 sub mods then we can all get on and enjoy the forum again

Just as a precaution it might be wise for everyone to check their privacy settings, I just realised I had 'Download V Card enabled' which allows everyone to see your email address, I've just disabled mine.
