Which p-clips?

Just trying to work out which p-clips to buy on e-Bay for my brake lines. Had assumed all brake lines would be metal, but loads of them are nylon. Are they any good? Or do I need the (expensive!) steel ones that are lined with rubber...?

You can make a really good job of a p clip with a strip of ali 10mm wide with some innertube rubber stuck to it. Just form it round a piece of rod slightly smaller than the pipe you need a clip for. leave the tails long untill your happy with them then drill the fixing hole. trim the tails last. Take your time with it in a vice and they turn out top notch. Its worth glueing up a load of it because there will be so many things that need clipping that are all different diameters.

Decided to throw caution (and £4.80) to the wind and bought a bag of 100 nylon p-clips in 4.8mm. Anyone else used these to secure their brake lines?

Just bringing this thread back to the top again. Which P-clips would people recommend I use to fix my hard lines? Will the nylon ones be good enough for the IVA or do I need rubber lined ones?

Nylon is OK for IVA AFAIK, cheap and cheerful.

Nylon is fine but sizes are a bit limited, to big or to small so I used bike inner tube as required
Metal clips with rubber inserts are ok for brake lines but more difficult to do neatly than nylon
