S1ims - mx5 build thread.
 

Well not much to show so far, but I've committed to starting the build by buying a mig welder today, before even cleaning out the garage.
My plan is to work from a talon flat pack, using his custom diff housing, mx5 1.8 donor.
I've got a larger than average single garage, and a 20ft container next to it (currently filled with wood!)
I've restored cars before (vw's and a herald) currently have an 88 mini, which may make way for the build!
Hopefully I'll make good progress, but in for the long haul if needed.
Trying to work out how to wire a camera up in the garage so I can make a time lapse video of whole thing from start to finish.:D

camera ebay do cheap cctv units for the job or try system q online very reasonable cabling wise just run a standard tv coax cable then put a power supply next to the camera cabling wise its much cheaper and easir if you have accesse to some cat 5 thats even cheaper im no cctv engineer but im a electrician so no engough to comment lol

I believe Dave Hempy from the Locost USA forums did the same time lapse thingy with a MX5 build.
Just make sure you weld your front suspension brackets up before taking a test drive, didn't turn out to well for him....LOL:eek:
