Fuel Filler Pipe

I am "nearly finished" my roadster. Ive just got a few more things to do and a few adjustments to make!!

One area I need to complete is my fuel tank filler. The fuel hose I have selected is 2" which matches the filler cap I have bought but the inlet on the tank is slightly smaller. This is causing it to leak a little. I have used an exhaust clamp to try and give it a good seal all around without kinking. I dont want to tighten it too much in case I crack the weld at the top of the tank.

Does anyone know of a solution. ie does anyone know of any products I can put in the hole to make it smaller. (the size difference is probably just a few mm)

I had been reading in the CBS catalogue and they have a method of using a piece of bycicle inner tube cut to length and placed over the male end of the fitting with the hose over the top . Will the inner tube be fuel resistant though?

thanks

David

Hi Dave, I purposely chose 48mm for the filler pipe to make it easier to fit 2" pipe, what you need is a good quality stainless "t" clip like these. to give good even clamping all around.
