Mirrors
1 Attachment(s)
Hi all just wondered what people where using for wing and rear view mirrors? Would like some ideas on some that fit as there are soooo many to choose from
Thanks Attachment 1731 Something like this maybe? |
I've chosen a pair of these for iva. They are high enough to see with. Even with these its tricky reversing into my garage as you can't judge the rear wings properly.

I've got the race tech ones but not f1 style. They are very small but big enough to satisfy iva. I just need to make sure I can see everything needed.

Take care because there is a spec for IVA!
You need to fit a rectangle of a certain size inside the frame (cant remember what the size is):o |
Thanks for the info so do you need a rear view mirror if you have wing mirrors?
|
You will be better off with one, again its got to be up to spec.

From the manual: ------------- 1. The vehicle must have an offside exterior mirror fitted. 2. An interior mirror must be fitted, (see note 3) Note 3: The interior mirror must be positioned as far as is practical to afford the best possible view to the rear, if the interior rear-view mirror does not provide any rearward vision its presence shall not be required. ------------- so the only time you don't need a rear view mirror would be if it was completely pointless - i.e. in a van with no rear windows. I don't think you need to fit the passenger wing mirror, but you'd be unlikely to pass the rear view test if you didn't. I've got the same mirrors as Davidbolam, and the IVA man was very complimentary on them, saying they gave a really good rear view. He also said a lot of 7 builders make the mistake of mounting wing mirrors too low down and failing because the rear arches block their view. |
