Introduction

Hi Guys,
Finally got my registration sorted so thought id introduce myself.
Im 30 years, married with a 12yo daughter.
Currently working in Vietnam for the last few years for Bosch (engineering manager for CVT manufacturing). Returning to UK at the end of this month and heading straight to B&Q for my build board wood...
Living in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear.

Always been interested in the roadster scene and cant wait to start with my first build. Totally undecided what to use for donor. Probably just keep it simple to get registration etc with a sierra powered by zetec, then go balls out afterwards. Really would love a turbo lump though.

Anyways, glad there is so much activity on here and some really great builds to take inspiration from. If anyone has any goodies/donor equipments give me a shout.

Thanks guys, its quite flattering to be called a mackem again....endless corrections of being referred to as a geordie for the last few years :)

I have trawled the forum a few times now and noticed many people quite local. Certainly may be a few beers in it for a night of brain picking and info sharing (ie what i need, where/who to get it from etc).

Hi Neil welcome from another Makem (Ford Estate originally) now in Station Town Wingate which is just a few miles down the A19, I am one of the locals with a haynes currently on the road. If you want a taste of what a turbo version is like, drop me a PM when you fancy a ride.
By the way don't get your build board from B&Q.
Try Stranton DIY in Stockton Rd, Hartlepool .....I'm guessing you have already seen my build thread, if not it... is in the general section under New build thread

Thanks guys. Will definitely take you up on that offer kev especially as the summer approaches. I have been stalking your build over the previous months. Very impressive standard and some nice touches with the plating and anodizing.

Hopefully i will be up and running within 12 months..fingers crossed

Hi Neil. Another one from South Shields/jarrow area I still haven't sorted out a build thread and my build is very slow but nice to see another local.
By the way apparently there's a huge wood place in Sunderland to get your wood sheet but I don't know the name.
I got mine from Ashley timber in South Shields for around 20 quid
