Best Australian doner vehicle?

Looks like the E36 BMW is the best candidate. I was thinking of my own car (a '96 Subaru Liberty) , but the engine and transmission are not suitable.

Any other suggestions?

Have a look at a Toyota Celica 3sge or a 4age motor seems to be the go in some of the 7's over here in New Zealand also Merc 190e apparently hope this helps:)
