Bolts

I know there was a thread on this before but can't seem to find it.
Can you use threaded rod and lock nuts on the diff mounts and rear uprights?
I would prefer bolts with the grade marked on them but can't find them. Any links would be welcome.
Thanks in advance.

PS I wish I could go to Stoneleigh this year and meet some of you guys it looks as if it is going to be great :D

I have just about enough stainless threaded bar on the rack left over from my build if its any help. I could send you some if it helps you out? Its got the grade stamped on sleeve, 8.8 i think but it was over a year ago I ordered it from my supplier so can remember exactly while I am sitting with a beer in the sun.

If your not in rush for it and send me the sizes I will cut it next time I am in the workshop.

Shame your not at the show, I'm missing most of it due to my best mates wedding, (but the good thing is its only 40 miles away so will make it monday with a hangover!)

Just be aware that the 2 M12 X 250mm bolts will be for mounting the rear uprights ;)

The 2 diff mounting bolts are M12 X 210 mm & they are plenty long enough for the job.

I measured my original donors diff bolts the other day, One was M12 X 205mm & the other was M12 X 210mm :)

No need to be sorry bigheppy :)

That ebay item is not such a bad deal & some folk realy struggle to find those long M12 bolts for mounting the rear uprights ;)

Yep, there the ones ..... I must say, that is one MF stupid rip of price for some crusty second hand bolts.

Their terms & conditions are a joy to behold ..... Ebay sellers have not been allowed to leave negative feedback for ages :D

I could probably get a box of 25 new ones for not much more !!??

If memory serves me right, AshG & Dogwood only paid about £2 each for those bolts new ;)

Many thanks for the offer. I have the number of a supplier (Thomas Smith)and I will ring them tomorrow and see if they can help. I seem to remember that if you use threaded bar you may have to prove to the IVA inspector that its the right grade. So I think I would have to have receipts for the rod with the grade marked on it. I would definitely prefer bolts so I will keep looking. If anyone knows of a supplier please let me know.
Once again thanks for the kind offer.:)
