Cp23 ??? Brake line backets

where do i put the front flexi brake line brackets, i know they go on u1 and u2 but the pic in the book isn't very clear as to what side they point?

Hi, If you have ally side panels you dont need the brackets you can mount them in the panel.
I think the book ones go just below the upper rear suspension bracket pointing back.

Like wot Ray says:) If you are using ally panels bear in mind that you cant' just drill a hole for the pipe to exit through, even if you put a grommet on it - the IVA inspectors don't like that. If you put the bracket nice and close to the wishbone mount it's easy to extend the hole for the wishbone bracket so it has plenty of clearance for the flexi hose to come through the panel without touching it. As far as the back mounts are concerned I found it better to have them pointing up - it gives a better run to the calipers.

dont bother with the front ones. just drill and fix them to the the side panels

Enoch 27th April 2010 09:54 PM

Just to clarify my post - if you use the brackets then keep em close to the wishbone mount like I did. If you are sensible though then Ash and Ray's advise to forget them and fix them to the side panel is so obvious that it's irritating:)
Wish I had thought of that:( Dooohh.
If you want to see how I did mine then go to www.deepfolly.co.uk, go to build diary part 4 and there is a photo about 2/3 the way down.

Oh, Ash - pigs can't fly. Not unless they have a pilots licence.:p

Don't beat yourself up .... That happens to me quite a lot too :D :D

Doh! I hadn't thought of using the ally side as a bracket!!! i'll throw the other 2 in my 'scrap, but might come in useful one day' metal pile :)

I Cant take any credit for this as it was ash that told me at the exeter show i do still have brackets on my chassis cause i had already done them and havent taken them off yet.
Ray:)

What have people done if using fibreglass side panels? Do you still use a bulkhead connector on the panel?
Cheers guys
