Where can I get an exhaust Gasket?
Hi Folks, Just in to making my exhaust. I have the DOHC engine, I am using the standard manifold and have cut down the 2 in to 1 pipe. I need the gasket that goes between the two but can't find one. I have tried ebay and various other sources but drawn a blank. Anyone got any ideas? Would I get away with jointing compound?
Thanks in advance, Enoch www.deepfolly.co.uk |
How about this Enoch
Gasket set Worth a thought as you are likely to pay at least a tenner if they can be sourced sepperately  Buy the set .... Nick the exhaust gaskets & put the rest in your store as an almost complete set ;) Or Try this guy on Ebay The Gasket shop He has helped me find some really obscure stuff over the last few years :) I beleive that the ehxaust manifold has two small gaskets, if all else fails, make a couple out of some thin copper sheet & smear a tiny bit of exhaust paste over either side. Bolt the little devil up & that should at least top it blowing & would be better than now't :) |
Have you tried you local ford dealer? you should still be able to get one from there or a local exhaust fitting centre should be able to order you one up.
HTH BV:) |
Can you not buy a sheet of gasket material and make one then if you bugger it up you would have enough to make another one:confused: We do this at work a lot.(make them that is not bugger them up :p )

Thanks for the replies chaps, I think I will try the local exhaust centre first, I have some gasket material but I don't think it would take the heat from an exhaust manifold. I like the idea of making one from copper but will keep that as a plan b due to the time it would take to get it right.
Thanks again, happy building. Enoch. PS fitting my tank today and maybe the exhaust, will see how I get on. |
