It goes forward, backwards and stops
 

Well, my propshaft arrived from Dunning and Fairbank today, it's a beautiful job with an incredibly well machined adapter plate. It fitted perfectly and was incredibly simple to fit.
I still don't have a complete cooling system thanks to the faffing about of a supplier so could not go far.
I did manage to reverse down the drive, stop, turn it off, leave it for a few minutes and then put it back in the garage. So I guess I can say I have had my first drive:)
I made a few observations eg, it's too low, the pedals are very close together when I have my trainers on and driving your own car even on the shortest of tests can create a stirring in the nether regions:D
I hope that I will get my radiator hoses tomorrow and will be able to complete my cooling system and give it a proper test. I will update my build diary soon with all the gory details.

Thanks TT. My Ecu problems seem to be over. One issue was to do with the throttle body - I'm not sure what the part is called but it is a lever type thingy and it was sticking, so causing it to rev a bit high. Why it was hunting I know not but it's stopped doing it now so I guess I will just have to see if it comes back or not.

How did you get on winding in the cap heads between prop and adapter ?

Mine where a complete pain when I wanted to take them out. I ended up swaping them for stud n nuts.

t'was no problem. The adapter bolts on to the gearbox first with 3 recessed hex head bolts. I put threadlock on them to make sure they stay put. My prop has a sliding joint in it, when it is closed right up it just lifts in to place between the adapter at the front and the diff flange at the rear. standard hex head bolts hold it in place. The whole job only took 15 minutes.

Ive got the same prop. It came with cap heads and was a pain to get a hex key in there. Even worse when in the tunnel and the sides where panelled.

Hi Wasa, I would not want to attempt it with the side panels on, I could imagine that being a nightmare. Fortunately mine are not fitted yet:)
