Great days progress

Had a great day in the workshop today, it's almost looking like a car!:) This is the Mk1 dashboard, the second version with have a Digital Speedo Dash Gauge RX2n 10k and cutouts for the footwells.

Machined up the old Sierra clocks and inserted a peice of perspex, at least everything is usable now the first test drive!

Can you get some shots of the engine install and steering shaft.

Gives me a heads up putting the 2.9 in ;)

Think I am going to replace the wing mirrors, not sure the are suitable for IVA as they dont have a rubber surround?

Don't happen to have the 4x4 steering rack and track control arms do you?

Engine looks like it went in fairly well.

Have you chopped the sump?
And what was with the reverse mount alternator?

Cheers

Tis great to see that you are managing to find some time for your build Nick  :)

Looks like you are making some good progress, really taking shape now :)

Almost all the wiring / fuel feed / return pipes are temporary. I just needed to get a supply to get the engine running. I will build my own custom loom, and use braided fuel pipes secured with the approriate method.

I will strip the car when everything is fabricated for final assembly.

I do not have much left over from the original 4x4 apart from the break master cylinder and abs controls +loom + final drive unit.

The sump is the next job, i removed the 4x4 sump and used a standrd cologne 2 WD sump , but the bell house seems to have a big lump below.
