Private number plate

If I have my own numberplate, i own it outright.
once my car is built am i able to use that plate for the car instead of using the donors plate or a q plate or ? Im guessing i will have to sell the plate with the car.
Cheers all,

If it is on a Q-plate, it stays on the Q-plate. You can't change.

If it is a prefix plate (say, J Reg) then it can only go on a J Reg or older.

It will depend if they issue an age related plate, or if they issue a Q plate.

Phone up, or pop down to, your local DVLA office.

When I regged mine I handed the V750 over and they stuck it straight on, but that was with me having a brand new 08 plate..
