Hi Justas, nice to see you on this forum!

I'm wondering, where did you get the weight estimate from? A typical build is around 550-600 kg. Remove the engine, tank, gearbox, and you still have around 380-430 kg. I tried summing up the weight of my rolling chassis, got around 240 kg at this stage:

Do you have any weight-saving ideas in mind?

jstskn 14th November 2010 01:28 PM

In my calculations

550 - 120 engine - 50 gearbox - 30 tank, petrol, pump - 50 other liquids and exhaust = 300 kg

300 + engine 40 + batteries 75 + 15 other equipment = 430 kg

Can anyone tell exact numbers?

I'm interested in what batteries you intend to use. Deep cycle lead acid traction batteries are damned heavy, 75KGs of batteries is not going to get you far. Or do you have some new technology batteries in mind?

D.
