Exhaust downpipe

Thought I would post a few pics of the one useful thing Gus & I did at work today.

Welded up my downpipe. Still needs final cleaning & polish up, but seeing as it cost nothing I think it came out alright. I can finally connect my 1200 Bandit silencer to my engine.

Plus it double as a useful step for my 3yr old to get into the car on:rolleyes:

Cheers

Just a cautionary note I wouldnt let your youngster use it to get in and out of the car, just imagine if they tried it once the exhaust was hot. Kids dont realise that things change and could end up with serious burns.

Don't worry. It isn't something I let him do. I explained to him that he should be getting into it from the drivers side!! He soon runs a mile if you started it as he doesn't like the noise.

That looks very smart indeed, can I ask where you sourced the parts from?

Hi Dave,

I see you've found Mark some things to do now he's finished his ;) You should make good headway now then :D

Kind regards

John

The parts were all bits we have had at work for a long time. Thought I would make some use of them, rather than have them gathering dust!!

Bending the tube took a bit of time but we got there in the end. Bought the silencer & RS turbo manifold on ebay. Exhaust cost about £50 for the whole lot so not to bad.

Gus keeps asking me for things to do John but Im running out of ideas. Other than the wing stays I think we have done all the fabricating.
Chassis is coming on ok. Since you saw it I have fitted all the wishbones, brakes, filled diff, gearbox, & engine with oil, done the exhaust mounting & exhaust.

Bit of wiring and it would start & drive, but I'm leaving the wiring until I have fitted some of the bodywork once I get it.

Cheers

Dave
