Sadly i think its got to go

Hi guys,

Had no work all week because of the snow. On top of that iv just found out that im going to be made redundant in the new year. Ive asked around various companies that im pals with and they are all in the same boat, no work going. So with bills to pay, and after a long chat with the missus i have decided to sell my uncomplete project:( . Im gutted, but i need to keep a roof over our heads.

Ive got.
Chassis, fully welded but needs a days work tidying up the odd weld.
Full set of wishbones supplied by saturn with polybushes and crustubes fitted.
Brand new front uprights, reamed
Brand new steering rack with rack extensions from saturn
All ball joints for the front end, again all brand new
Set of new bucket seats
Rear diff with mounting brackets, drive shafts, hubs and brakes
Rear uprights, supplied by saturn
Pedal box, complete, just needs hole cutting for master cylinder
All suspension bolts, supplied by saturn

The car is almost a rolling chassis. All it needs is mushrooms(pm sent kev), coilovers and steering column to complete.

I would really like to sell the parts seperatly to get back as much cash as possible but i would love to sell the whole project for a good offer. Its a shame, not really bothered about the money its just the hours and passion i put into making the chassis. Im really gutted but i guess iv got to do what iv got to do. Iv made some real good friends on here in the last couple of months, big thanks to all that have helped me, taking time to guide me through the build. If there is little or no interest in buying the project, il put it to bed and comlete it when things get better.

That's a real bummer Nathan and really sorry to hear that - was looking forward to having another local roadster on the road. Was looking to be a nice build to.

Hope everything works out okay for the future to, sure it will - you seem a grafter. There is always work for people who want to work.

All the Best.....Andrew

Sad news nathan, but as Andy says, i'm sure you'll get things sorted in the end.

Just had a read of your blog - that black aluminum you've used for the side panel, how much have you got spare?

I'll need some to do my tranny tunnel and behind the seats, if you fancy selling what you've got left?

Let me know. :)

thanks andy,

yeah, im sure something will turn up, to be honest iv been thinking of changing career anyway, im fed up with climbing trees, all those small injuries iv picked up over the years are starting to cause problems, especially on cold mornings. I might go back to college and do metal fabrication or something like that.

sorry davis, i missed your post.

That black ally iv got was liberated from a set of shelves a mate made when he was in the RAF. Strange material to make shelves from! but i suppose he liberated it from a tornado or something:o

Iv got none left, however iv got the side panels, but to be honest mate they arent anything special, my sheet working skills leave a lot to be desired. I was going to use them to get through the iva and then get some grp ones. You are more than welcome to them if you want. I suppose you could cut them and use them for the tranny cowls.

No probs Nathan, i've got my side panels already and wouldn't want to chop up your handy work :D

I'm sure someone else may be interested in them.

Hi
Sorry to here another member selling up. If you do split it I would be interested in the ball joints, tre's etc and also maybe the seats depending on what kind they are, also maybe the pedal box. Can you give me an idea of how much you want for them along with details of the seats?

Cheers
Ken

If I were you I would treat your project as a savings account. Sell what you need to when you have to. If you end up having to claim benefits you can be sure that they'll make sure your wallet is empty before they give you anything! but car parts are hidden and you use them when you need to.
Just a thought. Good luck whatever you decide.
