Spikehaus First Tear Drive!
Just wanted to share another major milestone in my build today by driving the car for the very first time!
Before you ask Handy Andy, the video camera was at home, but I have plenty of time to sort out a video on the next occasion when I have sorted out the niggly problems I undercoverd. Plenty of photos uploaded onto flicker of dad & I. ![]() ![]() ![]() Snagging Items: Locking nuts require on steering rose joint Book designed steering rack mounts flex while turning. Re-engineer. Possible hydraulic clutch required as it is very heavy. Secure padded seats Fix nosecone and top radiator mounts Camber requires setup Install offset mushrooms to correct self centering Bleed brakes again as still spongy Alternator rattles on chassis |
Looking very good spikehaus! I can't wait until my weld is at that stage, I just need to find the issue with my welder...

I see you took plenty of jumbo size toilet rolls with you just incase:D

Nick A huge well done to you mate :) I know that you have found it hard to find the time for your build but it is a pleasure to see you reaping some of the rewards of all your hard work. The list of things to sort doesn't sound too bad, sure that it'll not take you too long to get the minor niggles sorted. Ohhh, quite Green with envy :) |
looks great matie id be over the moon right now seems you squeezed a right beast in there !:D
|
Thats Fantastic news Nick, a HUUUUUGE well done mate:cool:
Your Roadster certainly looks the beast with that engine  I imagine you are still grinning from ear to ear eh? I look forward to the video :p Nice one Nick, looks like this year is going to see quite a few completed Roadsters on the road . cheers andy |
Cheers Andy,
It's been a steady build & provided highlights consistently throughout, I am sure that I would have lost interest if it was not for all the support via the forum with like minded people, who are all considered as friends. It's so funny standing around admiring cars at the kitcar shows, next to strangers who when you speak to them seem to know everything about your build! Long live Haynes Forum & Kitcars! |

As for standing next to someone at a show etc etc, its a weird feeling when they ask "how did you do this or that" & they are referring to your own car that is locked up at home in the garage  spooky:D cheers andy |
