My Builed Thread

The time has come!!!!! and the smile on my face is huge!!!

Received my stage 1 chassis kit from Andy yesterday so today i got busy starting to put it all together, thought i'd pop up a build thread to track my progress, throw some ideas about etc.

I'm building the chassis at my unit as there's more space, it's warm, lightings good and most importantly i've already got a solid work table to use.

The table i'm using is a roller blind table ( i manufacture/install window blinds) and the table was setup and bolted down perfectly level, so it's a good base.
I've attached a sheet of 15mm mdf and screwed it down tight so this will be the base.

Build area

After unwrapping Andy's superb chassis pack i started to lay it out and get an idea of where it all goes, pretty quickly layed it all out and began to mark up the base board.

Laying and marking up

Eventually had it all marked and most parts blocked in, left it this evening with just two bars needing placing in.

All going well so far, just need to check all the measurements and placings a few more times and i can begin tacking it together.

A huge smile on my face now i'm underway.

Looking good bud, just remember to remove all those rolls of fabric before you pick up the welding torch;) . I look forward to following your build.

Thanks guys, the support means alot as always.

Yes, i've already let Andy know i'll be needing stage 2 in a week or two's time, i thought it would be a month between stages but i can see the chassis together in a month at most.

I'll try and get things like suspension brackets, steering rack etc ordered ready to attach.
